This is a long drawn out process, with people having to go out and vote four times in six weeks.

The French legislative election will take place June 10 and June 17 to elect the 14th National Assembly of the Fifth  Republic.
All 577 seats in the National Assembly are up for grabs.
At present, UMP (Sarkozy’s center right party) led by Jean-François Copé holds 313 seats
The Socialist Party (PS) led by Martine Aubry holds 186 seats
Other parties hold 22 seats.

Seems like an awful waste of funds to have 4 elections when you could have 2 instead. Why do they want it separate?

Maybe it’s a good thing if the leftist types are too lazy to turnout again.

Marine Le Pen is not her father. She has never committed Holocaust Revisionism. She is certainly no Nazi. And she is the only candidate to get on the ballot to deal with the Muslim Invasion and Eurabia conspiracy. Sarkozy, promoted of the Union for the Mediterranean is a handmaiden of Eurabia, controlled opposition on election day, proponent the next years.

You can fix economic errors. Even a lost generation of economic growth is survivable. There is no going back when ones country ceases to be sovereign and its population is replaced by a hostile invasion abetted by one’s new masters.

Excellent comment and very true.....we're in that process in our nation.

Would you be guest of honor at a neo-Nazi Ball held at Hofburg Palace in Vienna, as Marine ke Pen was?

FOR MORE ON MLP AND THE VIENNA BALL AT THE HOFBYRG PLACE ON HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY SEE:

MARINE LE PEN ATTENDS NEO-NAZI BALL ON HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY

This confirms what I have been telling you all along about MLP. She is no kind of conservative, but a neo-Nazi anti-Semitic neo-Fascist. She has connection with all the extremist and skinhead groups in Europe.

MLP is her father in drag, and far more dangerous.

From your FR page:
“I’m a Jewish conservative from NY. I was the founder of the Columbia College Conservative Club “
I’m shocked that someone with your background does not understand that Marine Le Pen is an anti- Semite, anti-Israel Jew hater. She may claim to be against Arab immigrants, but she us against all immigrants. She despises America and what we stand fir, and hates Israel.
She may claim to be against Arabs in France, but always sides with the pro-Palistinians against Israel.
MLP has refused to distance herself from her father’s Holocaust denials, and his joking, making a mockery of the slaughter of six million Jews.
This thread is about the upcoming Presidential elections in France. MLP lost. The election is between Sarkozy and Hollande, and there is a vast difference between them . Hollande is a hard core leftist socialist supporter of international socialism, and Sarkozy is a center right conservative leader trapped in a dysfunctional, bureaucratic, technocratic monarchial so called republic.

So the claims of the antisemitic communists of the Green Party are sacrosanct? They call the Vlaam Belang Nazis, which they are not. So why should I beleive anything the Palestinianist watermelons say? (Green on the outside, red on the inside)? We are talking about traitors who would see their own countries destroyed. Traitors who wish to see their native populations depopulated in the name of the environment, as they replace them with Muslims, who kill Jews.

The WKR ball was held on the same Friday since 1952. It happened to fall on Holocaust Remembrance day this year. They were not dancing on Jewish graves, they were dancing on their set day irrespective of anything else?

Shame on you for making excuses and apologies for the neo- fascist holding a formal Ball on Holocaust Memorial Day and for Marine Le Pen attending as guest of honor.

I dont believe in coincidences. With her family’s history of Holocaust denial and anti-Semitism, MLP went anyway, with a wink wink, nod nod to the neo-fascists in Europe.

And double Shame on you for posting this crap on Free Republic.

Green is the new Red. In other news, the sky is blue.

Nobody cares what some hippie luddite party has to say about anything. Who pays any attention to the Euro-weenies and their Green parties? They, for the record, just took a shellacking in France, not even getting 3% of the vote.

I don't deny that she dislikes America and Israel. But, so what? I rather a France survive as French at the cost of a fascist who doesn't like us, rather than the election of socialists who have similar hatreds, who will replace the French with Muslims who hate both more. Sarkozy pretends to be a friend of Israel and the US, even as he empowers the EU/Eurabia and does nothing about Muslim immigration to France and Europe and pushes for integration with the Muslim nations in the Mediterranean. Do you think that in a generation or two, when the Muslim population doubles or quadruples, the Gaulists will not revert to form with their open anti-Americanism and knifing of Israel?

I am a son and grandson of survivors of the Shoah. But I have also seen my grandparent's graveyard desecrated by Muslims and their friends, who were beaten by Muslim children chanting about Khaybar, children protected by the Green-Socialist politicians and antifa thugs you believe to be truth tellers. Le Pen is not killing Jews and has never called for it. Those her opponents allow to colonize France are. I will not be the stupid Jew, blinded by history, who in 1933 restates that Germany is an enlightened country, pointing to a Czarist Russia that ceased to exist. There are neo-Nazis in Europe, but most are allied to the Islamists, just as the Nazis were allied to the Muslim Brotherhood. I will not allow their ghost to protect their allies.

The issue is moot in the second round. Sarkozy is preferable to Hollande.

“Sarkozy is preferable to Hollande” On that we can definitely agree.

I am deeply saddened by your familiy’s tragic history. Where did the grave desacration take place?

As to the alliance of the far left and radical Islam, many good articles and books have been written. David Horowitz, Frank Gaffney, and Daniel Pipes are some examples.

As for Sarkozy, I have known him for many years, since before he was Mayor of Neuilly. He is a lot more conservative, in the American sense, than you imagine. But he is constrsinrd by working within a totally different system and context.

France is most like about to make a monumental mistake. Not the first in its history, as we all know.

Well, if the train of thought of those who voted for Le Pen is similar to many Freepers, they'll stay home and let the socialist win.

Yes indeed.

I was always taught it's your patriotic duty to vote. Many times that means holding your nose and picking. I don't get the logic either though I've sloughed it off as Democrat trolls trying to discourage republican voting (at least that's my hope).

In both cases France and the United States the elections are historic in their implications as to who wins. Why would you stay home and leave it to chance?

The other thing that gets me the left has no problem chipping away at the fabric of our nation over decades. But the right won't even try to put the pieces back it's always major overhaul or I'll continue to let the left chip away. There are even times when chipping away less is better than giving the left carte blanche. Somehow that is lost on some conservatives.

Please don’t mistake this as any sort of endorsement of the National Front (several themes of European populism are of serious concern to me) but I do think reading this article is a good idea. It may be a good example of how conservative third-parties, even in a European system, can have the effect of throwing elections to liberals and socialists in the short term.

France’s Turn for the Worse... Europe’s far right has already won
Slate ^ | 5/4/2012 | Yascha Mounk
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2880237/posts

The French political system is too different from ours for close parallels, but it is clear that the American populism represented by today’s Tea Party and the earlier Reagan Revolution is similar to though not a direct part of a broader Western movement of reaction against liberalism in “mainstream” politics. Our American tradition is very different from that of Europe — and I would say that is a good thing — but grassroots people in both Europe and the United States are realizing that the liberal assumptions which have infected both “conservative” and “liberal” parties are causing major damage and need to be challenged.

The big problem is that returning to the “old ways” in Europe too often means returning to a xenophobic nationalism based on ethnicity and not on ideology. America is a nation of immigrants drawn to an ideal of freedom; that is not necessarily the older heritage for large parts of Europe.
