(CBS News) Suspicion is spreading in the Secret Service scandal beyond the agents in just one Colombian hotel.
CBS News correspondent Whit Johnson reports that a law enforcement official told CBS News that the latest agent under investigation brought a woman back to the Hilton Hotel in Cartagena, Columbia, just five days before the president would be staying there.
Until now, the Hotel Caribe had been the focus of the scandal, where the other 22 members of the Secret Service and military accused of inappropriate behavior were checked in.
"Now you're into the hotel where the president of the united states was going to stay, and it just gets more troubling," Sen. Joe Lieberman said on "Face the Nation."

Hookers and hotels go together. Any rock star can call the front desk to have one sent up. Do they really expect us to believe hookers haven’t been around Obama before? What is the real problem? yeah, there were hookers there, but I am betting there are weapons missing as a minimum
Are they implying that the Hilton was off limits to the public for at least five days prior to Obama's arrival? Could it be that the entire hotel was booked for Obama and the other heads of state stayed in the cabanas ;-)?

The “united states”? Jeez, how do you not notice that? It looks so wrong in lower-case that it practically jumps of the page and smacks me. Bet they would never let "obama" slip by.
I just think that the press are scared that maybe their Messiah was in danger and their doing their usual teenage overreaction. Of course, the nimrods in Congress follow suit in hopes that the press will write something positive about them.
When I used to fly military cargo jets, I supported many, many Presidential support missions. Two of the heavy users of airlift were the Secret Service and the White House Communications Agency.
Here is what I suspect.
1. The Secret Service is guilty as charged in the scandal, but they are not the only sinners in this escapade and they are being held out as scapegoat - and now they know it.
2. I would wager that the Obama White House has employees that are directly implicated or could be implicated in the prostitution scandal, but the cover up is in full swing.
3. The cover up can be worse than a scandal.
4. The Secret Service got tired of being kicked in the teeth, and leaked the White House Communication Agency link to Republicans (probably Sen Grassley and others).
5. Grassely knows the answers to the questions he already sent to the Secret Service and leaked to the press: who was staying where, at what times, and what happened to those hotel records?
Corruption is like rust, seeping into all facets of what it touches.

Great post. This sounds right to me. I would only add that this has got to be a huge international embarrassment. There was an international incident when the thing first went down and I think this thing continues to give off an odor internationally.
The other thing is what security was breached or could have been breached. I’m sure those questions and answers are quite technical but beyond the fact that there were prostitutes and incidents what were the real or potential security implications of this whole episode?

I feel confident in saying that this President is not in any danger from female hookers.

Bingo! That’s what I’ve suspected from the beginning. The SS was probably just screening the hookers for the Obama people.
No, it is not beside the point.
I remember cnn referring to President Bush as ‘Mr. Bush’ while he was in office and in the same breath, calling clinton ‘President Clinton’ despite the fact that he was a former president.
And, I am surprised by the comments on the see-BS website. One poster cracked me up by writing of obama’s drug use and dog eating - maybe this should be the new obama campaign slogan!!!
