When you vote your principles, you never waste your vote. Check into the Founders' opinions on that subject. When I go to vote for every conservative I can find downticket, and to cast a vote for Virgil Goode, I will have done my duty and I will have every right in the world to complain about Obama. My duty is to VOTE, not to vote for the person someone thinks I should.
