With Barack Obama in the White house, there is simply no one in the administration to make fun of. Its been a very frustrating few years.
On the other hand, if Romney is elected, there will be limitless material. Romney is funny, you see. The Obamas? I mean, there is just nothing that lends itself to parody.

The gays running NBC today WOULD NOT TOLERATE doing to Obama, what NBC does to Republicans.
New parody blog by a frequent People's Cube contributor.
SNL hasn’t been funny for decades.
SNL has not been funny since 1979.
Big Sis is quite humorous. The dog eating TOTUS too.
Obama provides plenty of comedy material. The problem is that liberals hate being the butt of the joke.
You mean the 57 states, Marine Corpse, dog eating Totus?
SNL learned you can’t mock a muzzie.
Can anyone shoop Barack's face onto the Wicked Witch of the West and caption it "I'll eat you my pretty, and your dog, too!"?
One of the funniest SNL skits I have seen in the last 10 years was this....
You mean they couldn’t even go after Biden....my God this guy should have provided them with at least ten seasons of material.
I don’t know much about Lovitz, but I’ve always suspected there are a lot more “liberals” in Hollywood who are fiscally more conservative, but it is the “go with the flow” attitude of Hollywood and the social issues that make them stay with the liberal party line. You have your true believers like Clooney, but a lot of people who moved there and/or aren’t into politics that much.
Plus they have to be afraid to speak up much. I even suspect some that say they are for Obama in public aren’t.
It really shows that having only 2 real parties is really clunky.
So THAT’s their excuse for 20 years of not being funny? Sorry, guys, I’m not buying it.
And you can't blame politics for that. SNL is just not funny.
They will NOT do anything to offend their boy.
Laughable. He made a funny and didn't even know it.
Axelrod as Baghdad Bob would be killer. Or Bob as Axelrod, doesn't matter.
That needs to go viral again.
“Will you kiss me?”
“Because I like being kissed when SOMEONE IS DOING SEX TO ME!”
He’s a black socialist, therefore they can’t make fun of him.
That’s it in a nutshell.
It's had its moments since then, growing more sparse as time moves on. 1988's Dukakis After Dark skit was damned funny.
Just goes to show that it's not old-school Liberals that are humorless. It's these Marxists.
The last decent cast included Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman and Chris Farley.
It’s been all downhill, a steep one at that, ever since.
And there’s just so much material to be exploited with Biden and Pelosi but instead they focus on boring Republicans.
And the “music?”
“Hes a black socialist, therefore they cant make fun of him.”
DING!! WE HAVE A WINNER, FOLKS!!
Well Communist America Haters are not really funny people so I see his point.........
Its true, the obama administration is a PARODY... and PARODYing a PARODY is tough work and far more than the lazy staff at SNL could ever manage.
With Barack Obama in the White house, there is simply no one in the administration to make fun of.”
Not if you want to live to see your kids grow up, no.
For a time, Fred Armisen was doing some good, somewhat biting sendups of Obama, but that hasn’t happened in awhile.
The NBC bosses must’ve gotten the memo.
“And you can’t blame politics for that. SNL is just not funny.”

SNL has been funny, very funny, and edgy, and brilliant. This is off the top of my head, and they’ve done a lot more that’s worked. They got lazy and slid into politics for cheap laughs starting with the very unfunny Chevy Chase.
That whacked half the audience looking for a laugh, since Conservatives are essentially happy people, and liberals are generally miserable.
They used to have folks that could be funny without being political. Now they’re as funny as the table of contents.
Or see your tax returns audited for the past five years.
Nail, meet hammer.
Could you just see a skit that gets together Janet Reno and Janet napolitano? Man I see potential there.
