It's easy to dismiss the dramatic fall of Alameda County Supervisor Nadia Lockyer as the failings of an addict. But it was much more than that. A system - our political system - created her.
Our political system allows one person, like state Treasurer Bill Lockyer, to run for a statewide office, collect millions of dollars in donations and then bestow those funds like a kingmaker in lower-level races - like a county supervisor's race.
Our system here in Alameda County allows one party - the Democratic Party - to declare for the rest of us who should be in office to appease one of its favored sons and anoint his wife to a position she now says she could not handle.
Politicians from around the state, from Gov. Jerry Brown to Fremont City Councilman-turned-Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski, endorsed Nadia Lockyer. And those who supported her undoubtedly secured the goodwill of Bill Lockyer, one of the state's most influential politicians.
When Nadia Lockyer ran for office, she did so with no elected office experience outside of one term on a school board in Santa Ana. She ran against people with a bounty of service to county voters: Liz Figueroa, a former state senator, Kevin Dowling, a Hayward city councilman, and Mark Green, a longtime Union City mayor. But that didn't matter to the Democratic Party.
A candidates forum sponsored by the Alameda County Democratic Party Central Committee during the 2010 campaign provided Lockyer's opponents with a preview of what was to come.
...Dowling watched as Bill Lockyer took committee members into a hallway, one by one, ostensibly to secure their vote for his wife. When the membership voted to endorse, Figueroa received two votes, Dowling received none, and Lockyer got all the rest . . .

I think the swarm of illegals over the last 30 yrs has tipped the voting balance irreparably in favor if liberals there.
The only middle class left in California in 10 yrs will be govt employees.
There be one percenters and the balance illegals and welfare “clients”.

Treasurer Bill has been in the marital sweepstakes twice before, and has an adult daughter who is an attorney for NASA.
Nadia and Treasurer Bill are professional freeloaders---they love sucking off taxpayers. They are now pulling out every trick in the book to manipulate voters so TB can run for another office (term limits for State Treasuere's job)
Nadia works as Executive Director of the Alameda County Family Justice Center. In January 2010, she was appointed to the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges System by Gov Schwarzenegger.
After Treasurer Bill gave Nadia $1.5 milllion to outspend her opponent, Nadia was elected to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors Nov 2010....and neither of them told voters Nadia was using drugs that she now says were supplied by her husband.

Nadia went AWOL from Board of Supervisors meetings since November 2011 and in February 2012 she checked into rehab for drug dependency. At that time, Nadia was in a highly publicized extramarital affair. In a motel room with her paramour, Nadia called cops claiming the lover had assaulted her.
Nadia then sent out an email that accused Treasurer Bill of supplying her with drugs that started her on a downward spiral into addiction. Treasurer Bill's spokesman immediately denied the charge; Nadia said her email account had been "hacked" but now says she lied about that. Nadia has also admitted to a problem with alcohol.
Treasurer Bill has to answer questions about drug use.....hers AND HIS. We need to know whether the drugs were illegal drugs Treasurer Bill bought from drug dealers or prescripton drugs Treasurer Bill illegally bought on the street.....and whether TB is also on drugs.

Nadia needs to tell the voters whether her drug-addled boyfriend is getting county tax dollars FOR ANY REASON....on the county payroll, for no-bid contracts, for expense accounts, credit cards, travel subsidies, auto subsidies, etc etc etc.
