There’s been articles recently that Obama won through fraud and deceit. And a lot of Russian money. I honestly don’t think Obama won. That said, he has powerful backers. I don’t think they are going to give up power.

We have paper ballots. You fill in the circle and then feed them into a machine that reads them.

Tim Holden is my congressman and Schuylkill County is my home area. The district was a Republican district that Holden kept winning (he’s popular in my county). Matt Cartwright is much more liberal. I can see him losing Schuylkill but it’s an uphill battle though since it has been redistricted into a Democratic district.

I hear you. PA is an expensive state to run in. Rick ran out of money and there is nothing you can do about that. Many a good campaign ends because the cash runs out. The 800 lb gorilla Milt was tough to go against on a shoestring budget this cycle. He has a very fat wallet.

Personally I’m a believer in Ulsterman’s Insider. Whether he’s a real person or a collaboration I don’t know. But he has been VERY accurate. And he says that we are going to get a race war from the Obama camp to keep that power. He said so long before Martin/Zimmermann.

No, I don’t think he will go willingly...or more aptly, the people pulling his strings will not go willingly. But since Soros says there is no difference between O and R, they keep their power either way anyway.

It would be harder to start a race war with Romney. Not impossible but Obama is easier.

It's time for bed my friend. See you around. :-)

This weird decision by Tom will cost him his reelection.

I disagree, no one will care about this Senate primary in 2014. That certainly won't be the thing that breaks the long streak of PA Governors winning reelection.

Welch of course is the idiot who voted for Obama (only in the primary he says) it's beyond me why anyone thought he was a good coice. The winner, Smith, himself was a rat until 2011 (yes just a year ago he was still voting in the rat primary), allegedly a conservative rat. Now he's "tea party", if he spends enough of his own money he may have a chance at an upset in November. Dick Morris loves him.

The moonbat Critz beating Altmire is good news, he'll be easier to beat in this new GOP-leaning district, most of which is new to him. The Republican is Keith Rothfus who narrowly lost to Altmire in 2010.

Holden losing to a moonbat is bad news but oh well, it's a new safe rat seat that was mostly new to him, he was clobbered outside his home base.

Given what PA freepers said about Scott Perry I'm surprised he won so easily. I haven't heard anything bad just "meh".

This is funny, former rat Congressman Patrick Murphy lost the rat primary for Attorney General to a self-funding former prosecutor. Unlike most states AG spots which lean rat, Republicans have won the office every time since it's been an elected position (1980). Hopefully that continues.

And in the POTUS primary, Santorum still came in second even after quiting and Paul came in third. So much for Gingrich "making noise". He also placed behind Paul in NY, CT and RI. He did come in an extremely distant second in his "targeted" state of a Delaware, this brings his number of second place finishes to a hearty 5 to go along with 2 wins. Maybe you should protest vote for Paul in Indiana, Clintonfatigued. Who did you vote for CampaignPete?

I too will probably vote Romney in the (desperate) hope he’s been playing rope-a-dope this whole time.

If I’m lucky enough to be right, he’ll be to the right of Reagan.

If (as is almost certain) I’m wrong, we’re done as a nation regardless who wins. And then I’ll move to the Free States of Texas et al.

When half of the traditional votership of the GOP is willing to elect a Romney, then the country I grew up in is no more.

The country you grew up in - a vibrant thriving nation - is no more. Sucks.

LOL. You say that now. Just wait till that Gov race rolls around and no other than Boob Casey Jr is running against Corbett. If Smith knocks him out, it would be the next logical step or if Boob wants to move up to daddy's old job, he may do it even if reelected. He is the Rats best shot at that spot. The Casey's never have lost a General election in PA. Never.

Also I hear do nothing Corbett peed off the GOP rank and file as well forcing Welch as their guy. His credibility is shot and that isn't doing him any favors trying to run things around here. If he bothers to run things around here.

The GOP and Romney destroyed Santorum in an all-out attack. I guess I will vote Constitution Party. What other choice do I have?

Yes, guess it’s just back to doomsday prepping, prayer, and family for me. Not sure why I believed they would actually give a real human like Santorum a chance.

I’m not sure what more the GOP can do to make it any more abundantly clear that they don’t want conservatives or anything we believe in.

At this point, anyone still on board with the Republican party is a master of lying to themselves. That’s not rhetoric, it’s provable and proven fact. When a political party goes against it’s own written platform to embrace the philosophy of the opposition, then they aren’t really the opposition. When a political party attacks it’s own base of supporters, demonizes them and works to rid themselves of that influence...and someone supports those who do it, well, they either don’t really believe the things they say they do or are lying to themselves and saying liberalism is really a conservative value. Period. There is no other explanation. I’ll write in someone I believe in, myself if it comes to that and the rest of the sheep can enjoy their Utopia as it burns. I refuse to contribute to the destruction of what’s left of America. I will go down with the ship.

And if he loses this one to a random millionaire he'd go on to win the Governorship? I doubt that. And I doubt he'll run for Governor if he's reelected Senator as he probably will be. But even if he does and even if he wins it won't have anything to do with this Senate primary, this isn't Specter-Toomey, it was between several nobodies for the right to go on to probably lose to Casey, it is not gonna have long term political ramifications for Corbett, no matter how pissed off you may be about it today 2 and half years before the next gubernatorial election.

I am not pissed at all. I voted Rorher at the last minute, but was going for Smith as late as this morning. A FReeper talked me out of it.

I do think Casey is going for the Gov seat because unlike all the other incumbent Govs in PA, Corbett is a weak loser. He is getting nothing done, promises are going unfulfilled and he is a general nub with no public appeal. If Casey wins reelect, he will be unstoppable with his fresh victory. If he loses, he has nothing to lose anyway. Why not go after a weak incumbent Gov. Forcing the grandees in the GOP to back a loser for Senate isn’t going to help Corbett fend off Casey. It weakened him tonight. You and I might forget about it, but Harrisburg pols who went out on a limb for Welch will not.

Well the streak is due to be broken. It’s actually more a each party wins 2 in row thing. If only Schweiker had run in 2002 against that swine Rendell. He would have kept the incumbent streak but broken the 2 in row thing.

If Casey loses to this Smith guy though that means Casey is weak himself. If Corbett is as lousy as all that a primary challenge or browbeating him into not running would be prudent. Florida is dealing with the same thing, the new GOP Governor is as popular as mud.

I would’ve gone for Rorher too. I just can’t trust this guy Smith that was a democrat just last year, there are too many self-proclaimed tea party favorites. His money though may be the only thing to give the GOP a chance against Casey.

I don’t think Smith is that bad a selection. First off Rorher ran a lousy campaign. He had no coverage in my area, which is where a Conservative needs to be getting the vote out. The phone rang off the hook here for every other candidate in the race except for Sam. Not good. I don’t know if it was money or what. Smith has cash. The first thing needed to knock off Casey. Second, he doesn’t have a voting record. Rohrer has a long one and Casey would just beat him all day long with it. We are not a Conservative state. You need RINO voters to win here. Now the focus of the race will be on Caseys crappy record. There is a lot to mine there.

The biggest impediment to knocking Boob out will be overcoming his name recognition. I just hope enough old timers have checked out that it starts becoming meaningless in comparison to his record. Tall order.

I knew Perry was the annointed man and Reilly would have a tough fight on his hands as well as the upstart trial lawyer Summers.

But the last robocall I got from Perry featured the voice of Todd Platts praising Perry.

Perry will be another Platts meandering all over the place.
