One would hope that honesty is not a punishable offense.

Actually, what I actually meant was I would be, for the first time in my life, not voting for one of the candidates for one of the two major parties. But I will put SOMETHING there. Sarah, Virgil, something...

If Romney is smart, he should fully embrace Newt’s first day agenda, including all the executive orders.

He’s made it QUITE clear he will NOT be restrained by Congress and will just go around them and do what he wants when he wants.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If that happens, then how is that any different than Mitt doing the same thing as Obama WITH Congressional support?
I say again - Our only hope is with the House and Senate. Forget the SCOTUS. I am betting they will ratify Obama Care.
And forget the presidency too. As things stand now.. Conservatives have no dog in that fight. As things stand now.. We have lost the office for the White House.
—If Barack gets more liberal justices on the court, it is GAME OVER.—
Congress has to approve them. If republican controlled, they can always Bork them.
"What’s the difference between RomneyCare and ObamaCare?"
Well one at the state level and one is at the federal level but the hypocrites on here just can't understand it's the "state" cohesion it citizens into something they don't want. A vote for M.R. is being a hypocrite to liberty and freedom.
As the Boss says "FUMR".
So,what of a brokered convention? Couldn't Newt pull off the nomination that way?
Newt was on the ballot in five states yesterday and the voters overwhelmingly preferred other candidates. He was in third place or below in four of the five, including the two biggest ones. What claim does Newt have on the nomination at this point?
Newt is spending more money than he is taking in. As much as I would like him to stay in the race, it’s not realistic at all unless he just stops campaigning completely but doesn’t officially drop out so he can show up at the convention.
Exactly. His campaign is $4.3 million in debt, and prevented by law from paying it down by using any of the $5 million in cash that his super pac has on hand.
I think I would like a link on that Heritage/Romneycare remark.
I’m not buying that.
Rather jackasseric of you, dontcha think? The thread is about Newton Leroy Gingrich. Only a petty person feels the urge to bitch about Santorum on a thread about Gingrich being a quitter.
Don’t forget that obama will have more flexibility in a second term. We haven’t seen anything yet.
I don’t want mitt, but am I willing to give obama 3 USSC nominations?
The money had dried up a long time ago. That’s why he wasn’t mounting any campaign against Romney. This is old news. Newt should have dropped out when the money dropped out. If not then, why now?
Meh, when Santorum dropped I think Newt probably thought there was a slim chance. Did you read FR, lots of people were still pushing for Newt. He was probably still getting some money. After last night and his spectacular loss in Delaware, even that would dry up. I mean, at this point he was becoming something of a joke and that would destroy any chance for him to be influential later.
Things have calmed down a bit but for a while there sanity was a hanging offense in these parts.
Even if Mitt loses, which is likely, there’s no way the corrupt GOP establishment will allow a conservative to be nominated by the Republican Party again.
