Samuel Wurzelbacher, the conservative activist popularly known as Joe the Plumber, is circulating a letter praising President Barack Obamas life story and crediting Christianity with his miraculous ascent to the presidency.
Wurzelbacher is the Republican congressional candidate challenging longtime Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur. He gained national fame during the 2008 election after he challenged Obama on tax policy during a campaign stop.
The letter, provided to The Daily Caller, strikes a respectful tone, at one point saying that Obama came to Christ and he is my brother. Fringe Obama opponents often claim that the president is secretly a Muslim.
Its not well, Christian to question Obamas religious faith, wrote Wurzelbacher.
One of the reasons I really dig Christianity is that its so incredibly powerful and amazing, he wrote. The lives of millions of people have been given meaning by their faith in Christ. And what better confirmation of that strength do we have than the life story of President Obama?
Wurzelbacher then provided a brief summary of the presidents biography, implying that Obamas Christian faith played a key role in his lifes successes.
Imagine being the child of a mixed-race marriage especially in the turbulent 60s and free-wheeling 70s, he wrote. And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist you know it could not have been easy and they were Communists for crying out loud!
At age six, young Barry was shipped off to Indonesia and exposed to Islam for several years. His parents divorced, he returned to the U.S. and Barack was placed with his grandparents. By the time he got to college, he was experimenting with cocaine, marijuana and even thought about using heroin.

Zer0 is still a muzzie in my book.
Joe must’ve been paid a visit by some Obama goons.
This is the kind of blather politicians have to spew in order to get elected. Perhaps Joe thnks it will provide innoculation when they try to play the race card.
Another dumbass with no shot.
If a politician supports mass slaughter of babies, it’s impossible not to question their faith.
And asking questions of men does not contradict Christian doctrine.
Joe you shall know them by their fruits. This stupid statement alone will lead Joe to defeat.
I think what Joe wrote needs to be read carefully. Notice how he outlines Zero’s past. Almost seems tongue-in-cheek.
—Joe mustve been paid a visit by some Obama goons.—
That is along the lines of what I was thinking when I read this.
This is amazing.
Yeah, He must have woke up to find his horses head in his bed.
Bribes make people do strange thins.
How many pieces of silver Joe? Or are they holding one of your kids hostage?
Deflecting a potential media attack line talking point is COMMON SENSE, folks.
The accepted media meme now is that anyone who dares to question Obama’s Christianity is a “Fringe Nutcase”.
He is running against one of the most RADICAL and corrupt Socialists in Congress. Keep it focused on the ISSUES, and don’t play in to Democrat/MediaMatters/MSNBC talking points.
SMART MOVE, IMHO.
Is Joe suggesting that Obama got where he is by "clinging" to his "Bible?"
Absolutely. I’m not buying this Christianity line one bit.
If he’s a Christian, he’s one of the worst ones of all time.
If he’s a Muslim, he’s right on target.
End of discussion...
This could be a subtle way of Joe’s to expose 0’s commie and atheist background and baggage. If it gets MSM coverage, though, and I assume it will, the subtleties will go down the memory hole and the headline will be that Joe embraces 0’s (alleged) Christianity. Joe will be co- opted.
If I’m wrong, then Joe must have fallen off a ladder.
That guy needs to get his head out of his ass, what a retarded thing to say. Any Christian who listens to a word this punk says should turn in their faith.
CINO = Obama, Christian in name only
CINO = Pelosi, Catholic in name only
I agree completely. Whether or not he genuinely believes that Obama is something that any real Christian would recognize as a Christian, his comments are politically useful in keeping the media from portraying him as a fringe nutcase. Personally, I am skeptical on Obama's claims that he was born in Hawaii, that he is a Christian, and that he is not a socialist. However, if I was running for office, I would at least pretend to believe those claims. I might argue (as Joe's tone does in the letter) that Obama's actions are surprising for someone who is Christian and not communist, but I wouldn't put much time into arguing about what label applies to the thug in our White House. It's far better to focus on issues and on the outcomes of each of Obama's horrendous policies.
I don’t think Joe is really a plumber. Every plumber knows that s##t flows down hill.

What is this drivel from Joe? Yes, God appoints kings and governments, but they are not always to our benefit, Joe! Sometimes, like NOW, they are a judgment upon a nation. Not every man that ascends is a friend and in no way is it an indicator of The One’s spiritual health.
America = Fantasy Nation
I wonder what prompted him to write this letter to The DC and why he is agreeing to have it sent around to churches ahead of the 2008 election. What does he claim this is in response to?
According to the Egyptian ambassador speaking on Arab TV, Obama told him privately that he was and still is a Muslim who supports the Muslim agenda. All of Obama’s actions fit that explanation - given that the Muslim agenda is the destruction of the US and Israel and the institution of worldwide sharia.
This reminds me so much of Missouri’s law enforcement “truth squads” who were out to quash anybody’s claims that Obama would raise taxes and that he is a Muslim. The truth mustn’t be spoken - unless it’s by Obama himself to his fellow Muslims...
Joe the Plumber needs to realize that Christians don’t go to bed with people who threaten both the media and their opponent into silence and show the credibility of their threats through assassinations. Christians don’t force other Christians to perform what they believe to be murder. Christians don’t make sure that fully-born infants can be killed without fear of prosecution. Christians don’t steal from some people to give to other people. Christians don’t bear false witness by committing forgery and fraud. Christians don’t seek to make government God.
I could go down the whole list of the Ten Commandments and show how Obama has not only trampled each one personally but has policies that assault each commandment. Everything he has fought for is anti-Christian.
Actually his response is straight out of the Gospel.
That being said, he still has no shot. Toledo is addicted to the drug of Marcy Kaptur Pork.
When a culture based on Judeo-Christian beliefs doesn’t even know what those beliefs are, how they influence your life, and how they will manifest themselves in your daily living...this is what you get.
I have never heard obama say one thing Christian; I’ve heard him say a lot of psuedo-Christian things that sound really good and really Christian to the uninformed/ill-informed...Aw screw it, I’ll just say it.
obama is an anti-Christ by his words, actions and deeds. He’s not THE anti-Christ, by any stretch of the imagination. He is one, still, none the less.
Your 15 minutes are up, Joe. Go fix a toilet or something!
I can think of a lot of Scriptures that conflict with what Joe the Plumber said.
Jesus called a spade a spade. That’s why the powerful in His day hated Him.
I don't think so, and the responses you see to Joe's comment on this thread are evidence of that.
The smart thing would have been to say, "I don't know about Obama's religion. You'll have to ask him about that.
Inclined to agree.
“Almost seems tongue-in-cheek.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope so. If he needs a sarc tag, I’m sure we can spare one from around here.
Gag me. What a disappointment he turned out to be.
Did this guy just lose any chance that he may have had to win? How lame can you get.
Except for that dog-eating incident.
“Its not well, Christian to question Obamas religious faith, wrote Wurzelbacher. “
And exactly what does Jesus’ statement “Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing” mean?
It damn sure is Christian to question someone’s faith.
He does not speak like a Christian so he is whatever he is and a chameleon at least.
The problem with that little item is that it proved to be true. Obama raised taxes on users of some tobacco products by as much as 2400% with the very first piece of legislation he signed into law. A 1 pound bag of loose tobacco went from $14 to $40 overnight.
A Communist is a Communist, BO is no Christian (or Muslim or anything else, simply a chameleon Communist).
I would no sooner praise BO than I would Stalin.
I agree with you - If he was asked a question that would have seen him portrayed as a igonrant blue collar slob if he answered it straight then yes it just puts that issue to rest and lets him focus on where Obama is wrong politically and fiscally etc.
Mel
It looks to me, from the excerpt, that he is feigning praise and then exposing a bunch of character flaws.
It’s FUNNY. Actually kind of hilarious,
There is no way he could get that info out there without its being wrapped in feint praise. A frontal assault would kill him; how do they go after him for praising Obama for overcoming all the trash in his background which he then goes on to enumerates.
IM BLESSED TO BE A CHRISTIAN
By Joe the Plumber Wurzelbacher
Not that long ago, I became a Christian. It was a magnificent event in my life that transformed me. It was, like many people have experienced, a moment of clarity. The weight came off my shoulders as I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior — Christianity has made me a better person.
Im not saying Im perfect, but I am forgiven. (Thank GOD)
Now you may remember that Barack Obama and I have an unusual history together. We dont share too many of the same political views, but we do have something in common: Were both Christians. The President says hes a follower of Christianity and I take him at his word. I dont question his faith, and when I read or hear people claiming hes not a Christian because of this or that, I dont like it.
Its not well, Christian. So before this election season gets into over-drive, I want to remind everyone that were all Gods children and our President should be given the love and respect the Golden Rule he puts forth. Its the core of being a good Christian and if you can get that down, youre close, my friend.
One of the reasons I really dig Christianity is that its so incredibly powerful and amazing. The lives of millions of people have been given meaning by their faith in Christ. And what better confirmation of that strength do we have than the life story of President Obama?
Imagine being the child of a mixed-race marriage especially in the turbulent 60s and free-wheeling 70s. And when you throw in that dad was a Muslim and mom an atheist you know it could not have been easy and they were Communists for crying out loud! At age six, young Barry was shipped off to Indonesia and exposed to Islam for several years. His parents divorced, he returned to the US and Barack was placed with his grandparents. By the time he got to college, he was experimenting with cocaine, marijuana and even thought about using heroin.
Hardly sounds like one who would become President of the United States, the most powerful man in the greatest, most powerful country in the history of the world, does it? It seems against all odds
almost miraculous?
After Barack Hussein Obama suddenly cast-off his Muslim roots, rejected his mothers disbelief in God, turned tail on the Islam of his early life and converted to Christianity - BLAM - hes elected President. Anyone who believes the two things are not connected is being disingenuous at best. I dont know how or when it happened, whether when he was partying at college or five minutes before he first decided to run for office, but it doesnt matter - he came to Christ and he is my brother.
Barack Obama once famously told me he just wanted to spread the wealth around and I take him at his word about that as well. After three years of watching the policies hes put forth, the agenda hes pushed and the detrimental effect its had on our country, I dont question it one bit
Depends. If we're hypocritically judging out of our own hidden sins, he's got a point: "You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." (Romans 2:1)
If we're weighing a person's doctrine and profession in light of Scripture, he's off. Believers have every right and duty to "test the spirits". Not only to say "You're WRONG!" and reject a person but to hopefully correct them in love.
As much as I despise Hillary, she had a good description of her impression as to whether Obama is a muslim.
“I wouldn’t say he’s a muslim.. that I know of.”
I agree. Does Joe want to spend the next six months taking about Obama’s religious faith or lack of it? No.
People are not going to pull the lever for him based on Obama’s religious beliefs. He is smart to put this issue behind him and to move forward.
Yep. Joe is being very clever - I think the whole thing is really sarcasm.
“I would no sooner praise BO than I would Stalin.”
Read it again. BO is not the one receiving praise.
I guess Joe didn’t really want that office.
