Probe found four Obama officials hired prostitutes in Brasilia nightclub.
The three marines on a U.S. Embassy security team, and an Embassy staff member, were pulled out of the country before police were able to press charges, according to Brazil's Jornal Nacional programme.
This latest incident, which happened in November last year, came to light after U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, in Brazil during a Latin American tour, was questioned about it by a Brazilian reporter during a press conference.
According to a Brazilian police investigation, the four U.S. Embassy officials had visited a nightclub in the centre of Brasilia where they had hired a group of prostitutes.
One of the Americans and at least one woman left the club by taxi, but Ms Ferreira and another women got into an official U.S. Embassy van with the other three men.
As they pulled away there was a discussion about how much the women were to be paid, and one of the marines pushed Ms Ferreira out of the car, where she ended up being run over by the vehicle.
...Romilda said she tried to hold on to the door but was dragged under the wheels.
She said: 'I tried to get up and grabbed the doorknob. That was when they told the driver to go. Then I felt my leg burning. I let go and fell underneath the van. I hit my head and passed out.'
The Americans then allegedly drove away without offering assistance.
Police investigating the incident requested the arrest of the driver of the van and one of the marines for bodily injury and failure to rescue.
But U.S. authorities removed the four men from the country before they could be charged with the crimes

Any military types know what whould have happened to to less high-profile marines involved in something like this at other foreign postings - say in Germany or Iraq?
Are you subject to local jurisdiction as well as the UCMJ?
I have always heard that a prostitute thrown out of a moving car spins in the opposite direction south of the equator. Gonna check Snopes.
Marine Security Guards usually carry Diplomatic Passports. If the embassy believes that they were guilty, they’d be flown out the next morning to the Security Guard Battalion HQS at Quantico. I don’t think non-judicial punishment would be meted out; rather, I believe, they’d be reduced in grade and either discharged with prejudice or if it were serious enough, they could end up on the rock hockey team. I’m sure that the leadership of the battalion would not be amused by the Marines’ misconduct, and bringing their outstanding record into disrepute.
(Note to self: cross ‘be a hooker’ off the bucket list)
You don’t really believe that none of this stuff ever happened prior to Obama getting elected, do you?
Keep your eye on the hand behind the magician’s back. Diversions, my FRiend, diversons.
Two points for you!
What kind of van has a doorknob, anyway?
Of course not, but to see it reported - that's unusual.
“You dont really believe that none of this stuff ever happened prior to Obama getting elected, do you?”
Nope, but why was it important NOW to release these after-incident reports?
You must not have been paying attention to all the reports of the rape allegations against Marines stationed in Okinawa in the 90s and the first decade of the 21st century.
We can thank 24/7 cable news, tweets, high-speed communications, 4G, the internet, etc. for this new way to learn things...
Perhaps to show a pattern or it just came out in the investigation?
No, they’re going to continue to dig up all incidents, in order to convince us it was at least as bad, probably even worse, since before Hussein ascended to power.
Problem is, they have to balance that with, “Then why didn’t the messiah put an end to it earlier?”
Probably the same reason no other administration put an end to this sort of behavior.
“...theyd be flown out the next morning to the Security Guard Battalion HQS at Quantico.”
So what has happened so far is pretty standard for incidents such as this?
I imagine all branches of the military deal with prostitute issues on a fairly regular basis.
Only if the locals catch you.
