Obama “enslaved” their generation with a debt they’ll never be able to pay off.

Obama’s election was a great example of why the voting age should be 21 and not 18.

Obama’s breach of trust with the American people is disheartening.

Read the incoherent and "blame bush" responses in the comments section and weep.

Not to mention this silly part of the author's piece. It's either dishonest or insane.

In 2008, we gave Obama the boost he needed to win the White House. Four years later, we have an opportunity to correct that mistake.

Kelsey Boehm is the chairman of the University of Iowa College Republicans.

Huh? Who's WE?

Nice. I’m always happy when someone wakes up. Bonus: Kelsey is female. (Take that you Republican War-on-Women accusers.)

My sister, who is on faculty at Univ of IA, was so excited, because her husband was going to the speech today, and going to have his picture taken with 0bama. They actively campaigned for him. I just don’t understand it.

She is referring to her generation, who did vote heavily for Obama.

Don't know about your sister but, in many cases, racist denial a.k.a. "white guilt" is amazingly persistent.

I have a female cousin in the deep South who is steadfastly "PROUD" to support 0bama and everything he stands for.

You have my empathy.

We HAD a couple of friends that we had invited to our home for dinner and bbq’s on several occasions over a 6 month period.

I had always had the impression that the female half might not agree with me on politics. It is clear to all around me that I am a conservative and that I hate Obama’s guts.

One evening we all got involved in a discussion about the state of the economy and I learned that she was an Obama supporting lib. I have refused to have them back and they have been told why they are no longer welcome.

If not related, I would not be able to tolerate her. When my son was at Ramadi in Iraq in 2006-7 with USMC, and there was heavy Al Qaeda stuff going on around that area, she made some comments about our military were only there due to Bush having lied about WMD. I answered something about that the Al Qaeda there “now” (at that time) seemed to be very real and a problem, but she was not backing down. I will never forget her insensitivty during that time, while my son was IN IRAQ, and we just prayed every day to be a day closer to safe homecomings.

Now their son is going into the Air Force to be a pilot. At some appropriate moment, I’ll point out that he’ll be in some war/combat at some point. Dropping bombs on North Korea or Iran, no doubt. I am very curious as to whether having her only child in the military will change the liberalism at all.

Hello, wake up America ??? Come out of your narcolepsy !!!

Since when have Americans liked being “poor” — usually never.
So “big government” and “Socialism” = (equals) poverty !!!

Getting up every morning and saying well I guess this is all I’ll ever have ... I’ll be poor all my life. No need to work or invent, or create any business ideas. Just destined to have what the gov’t gives ya. Geez, this is enough to seriously depress you. So wake up get to work, innovate !!!
Utilize your God given talents

He might have been speaking of his generation. Not necessarily of himself or others of his political stripe.

Good for you. I have no liberal friends myself but if I did, I'd have the same attitude.
