My sister, who is on faculty at Univ of IA, was so excited, because her husband was going to the speech today, and going to have his picture taken with 0bama. They actively campaigned for him. I just don’t understand it.

Don't know about your sister but, in many cases, racist denial a.k.a. "white guilt" is amazingly persistent.

I have a female cousin in the deep South who is steadfastly "PROUD" to support 0bama and everything he stands for.

You have my empathy.

We HAD a couple of friends that we had invited to our home for dinner and bbq’s on several occasions over a 6 month period.

I had always had the impression that the female half might not agree with me on politics. It is clear to all around me that I am a conservative and that I hate Obama’s guts.

One evening we all got involved in a discussion about the state of the economy and I learned that she was an Obama supporting lib. I have refused to have them back and they have been told why they are no longer welcome.
