Timing of Gingrich exit from GOP race has observers scratching their heads

Newt Gingrich will exit the presidential race — but not until next week, raising eyebrows about what exactly the former Speaker hopes to achieve in his final days on the campaign trail.

The conventional wisdom is that Gingrich is taking some kind of strange victory lap, gathering family and supporters in North Carolina for a final hurrah before exiting stage right.

This was a freaking setup from the start.
Yes, but who participated most prominently in the setup:

The RINOs, who fielded exactly ONE candidate [not counting the obvious no-account bozo Huntsman, who got no votes], or the CONSERVATIVES who fielded at least FIVE?

The major failure of 2011-12 is among we conservatives who absolutely REFUSED to unite behind a single candidate.

The fault is not in our stars, it's in our selves.

But the person everyone wanted to be a candidate who never became a candidate said all the competition was good.

Romney.

Not even a contest.

His wife is WAY BETTER LOOKING THAN michelle Obama, and that is reason enough alone.

Figures. After Justin Stink and the other GOP-e scribes screamed for Newt to get out of the race, they can’t even abide the way he chose to do it.

All other thoughts and speculations aside, there is a primary issue that EVERYONE needs to keep in mind.

Not just for now, today, until the election but from now on.

And as per usual it is just a small item that makes the entire situation clear.

It’s unclear the role Gingrich will be able to play, especially after alienating much of the Republican establishment by overstaying his welcome in the presidential race.

"the Republican establishment"

What needs to be corrected is the republican establishment's concept that we accept what they want.

They work for us, the voters, NOT the other way around.

Yesterday, I saw a post, don't remember from who, regarding the Primary process. Basically it said the TEA Party and conservatives need to have a general and binding "primary" of their own to rank, vet and select from all potential candidates whom they will (and will not) support.

This needs to be done BEFORE any of the other primaries.

With that information the gopees can then proceed at their own risk.

The primary goal is to get the conservative base on the same team as the best candidate. Yes that is a tough job but it is where we consistently fall short.

If the gopees try to go with a candidate that got a failed rank, they have no one to cry to except themselves. They MUST start responding to the will of the conservative base, or that conservative base will be GONE.

No more McCains. This Republic is on the verge of being lost to communism FROM BOTH PARTIES.

“This was a freaking setup from the start.”

We’ve been played since January 20, 1989. It is end game now, and they don’t much care about concealing it at the NWO/GOP.

There's a lot of irony packed into that single sentence.

I realize the only thing that surpasses PDS, is NDS, but here are a few facts, though I am under no illusion they will have any effect of your addled hatefilled brain:

In the latest Rasmussen poll - 4/21 - which had no press attention anywhere, Newt was polling at 38% against Obama (+9), and 42% in the lastest PPP (+9) Obama.

People like you, with your hate, never having made the acquaintance of a fact about Newt, are one of the reasons he lost.

If you had the capacity, you’d be ashamed.

I could disabuse you of some of your other lies and stupidity about Newt, but why would I bother?

I repeat, Newt Gingrich was not the victim of any "establishment conspiracy" to do him in.

Gingrich's campaign was probably doomed from the start, since he carried enough baggage to sink the S. S. United States. And then you might recall his campaign's horrible beginning, when he antagonized many of his would-be conservative supporters by denouncing the Ryan budget plan as "right-wing social engineering." He then took a leisurely cruise through the Mediterranean when he should have been getting his campaign together. You may also remember that his entire staff resigned.

Since he styles himself as a subject expert in American history, Gingrich should have followed the pattern of Republicans such as Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan who succeeded in winning the White House. Successful candidates begin laying the groundwork early on, build a solid and reliable campaign organization, and avoid taking on baggage or taking actions that antagonize their base of support.

We’ve been played since January 20, 1989.

Or perhaps since July 16, 1980, when Ronald Reagan picked George Bush to be his running mate. One of the great mysteries of our time is why President Reagan didn't groom a successor to carry on his legacy--for example, by putting Jack Kemp or some other prominent Reaganite in the Cabinet.

All before the initial debates?

Absolutely before the MSM "Gotcha Awards."

The Republican candidates that participate in that crap are only feeding the communist agenda MSM. That must STOP.

The logical thing to do is HAVE OUR OWN DEBATES.

Form a temporary "Republican Debate Company" (RDC, Inc.) It will Hire the venue, it will assign our own moderators and timekeepers, put the conservative media in the audience.

Provide live streaming and youtube video.

NO MSM TALKING HEADS ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY.

IF any MSM want to carry it they pay the temporary "Republican Debate Company" the fee and part of that goes to the candidates equally.

The carry it live and are not allowed to play it back. IF they carry the feed they are not allowed to play any other form of the debates such as audio or youtube. Ever. There will be no more NBC "accidental" edits.

There will be NO commentary by MSM "journalists" or reporters of their broadcast of the feed if they choose to carry it. They carry it with their lips zipped or not carry it, their choice.

There will be no MSM questions presented to the debaters. Only questions allowed are from real and genuine conservative show hosts. One "follow-up" only. Strict timekeeping.

Have Mark Levin oversee the legal agreements with viscous automatic penalties that will gut any MSM entity that re-plays one second of the debate or violates ANY of the additional stipulations. Video the signing after they read aloud into the camera they are freely agreeing to the terms of the agreements including the exact amounts of the fines for violations.

Standard fine per violation is 20 Million. Jurisdiction is also stipulated in the agreements.

All monies collected from any violations divided equally among the debtors only. RDC, Inc. operates on the fee for the feeds only.

No negotiations on the binding agreements. Take it / leave it. Their call.

Pay the fee, sign the agreements on video, get the feed. Other than that they can pizz off.

No more MSM "Gotcha Awards."
