Well actually you can't blame this one on the RNC, Rove or some convenient whipping boy. The RNC did not force Santorum and Gingrich to keep running and split the conservative vote. So we can blame this on ourselves, conservative candidates and their supporters. This is what primaries are all about so I am exactly sure what could have prevented this since there wasn't a single conservative candidate everyone would rally around.

No one deserves to be “taught” that “lesson.” Romney is light years better than Obama. But I’m with Rush. I think it will be an electoral blowout for Romney (and would have been for any GOP candidate).
I interpret Rove’s statement as a warning for those who think that Obama will be easy to defeat that they have a fight ahead. That those who want obama out of office don’t dare be comfortable or smug about ‘bho can’t win’ and thus I don’t need to vote or can vote for a 3rd party candidate.
