Again, they will wait until they have more “flexibility” to do this, actually they will just confiscate the farms for the collective when they are entrenched for life.

prohibit young people from working on family farms and participating in agriculture education programs including Future Farmers of America and 4-H.

Wow, that's the first I've seen of the bold part. FFA and 4H, suppressed as subversives. Can the Ministry of Truth be far behind?

Had the general manager of a large grain company speak at a meeting this week. He was really outspoken about what’s going on in Washington regarding agriculture. He said 80% of farmers want the government off their back. They don’t need or want the subsidies any more, and just want a free market in which to operate.

Yes, ultimately, they want to take over the farms.

And everything else. They want to pit neighbor against neighbor, children against parents, brother against brother.

A world where nobody can trust anybody and everybody is dependant on the government.

Utopia.

The Amish would simply ignore the ruling.

It's probably just as well that they backed off.

I seriously doubt that too many states would have meekly fallen in line, anyway.

About a month ago, for instance, the Tennessee House passed, by a whopping 70-24 vote--almost three-to-one!--a bill that would require the state of Tennessee to ignore these federal regualations.

“The Amish would have been hit hard by this ruling.”

I’m just curious. Do the Amish vote? If not, I wish they would consider it this time!

I think the Amish and others like them may have been specifically targeted though many other farm families of various stripes would have been affected as well.

****From the article: Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn, released a statement expressing relief about the withdrawal of the rule, which he said "would have had a negative impact on our state's ag community."****

I didn't know that Hollywood had an ag community.

Good news, but I’m still livid at the very thought.

they are waiting till after the ‘re-election’ to implement it...then all bets are off...

which I will hold my nose with a springy clothespin and vote for whomever the Republican nominee is.
