If I Wanted America to Fail, I’d Ban Kids From Farm Work

by Sarah Palin on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11:27am ·

The Obama Administration is working on regulations that would prevent children from working on our own family farms. This is more overreach of the federal government with many negative consequences. And if you think the government’s new regs will stop at family farms, think again.

My family is a commercial fishing family, and commercial fishing in Alaska is much like the family farm (but the year 'round farmers no doubt work harder than we do!). I guarantee fishing families wouldn’t stand for this nonsensical intrusion into our lives and livelihoods, and, as a former 4-H member, I don’t believe farm families will either. Our kids learn to work and to help feed America on our nation’s farms, and out on the water.

Federal government: get your own house in order and stop interfering in ours.

>>American farm families should just ignore these rules.<<

The second year of the next Obama administration will have a couple agents go into farm communities and “crucify” one or two families. They will threaten to do it to all farmers. The weaker farmers will turn in their neighbors.

That’s how it happened in Slovakia, according to the people in my Slovak church.

Oooh snap.

How’s it go again, “A society that trades liberty for safety deserves neither.”? Or something to that affect.

"I guess Obama would prefer that the farms hire poor illegal immigrants to do the work that Americans aren’t allowed to do anymore."

Ding! Ding!! Ding!!! - We have a winner!!!

That is EXACTLY what this is all about!!!

Think about it. It's the only thing that make any sort of sense!

Cheers

spent eighteen years growing up on a farm. There is one underlying theme...which I stressed to my son when I brought him over to visit the farm on numerous occasions...you can make one simple mistake and get killed by it. Every kid who graduates from growing up on a farm....has an appreciation of living and what it takes to survive. A farm kid can analyze and give you the odds of doing something stupid and the odds of getting injured or hurt. In the end...we all know about this thing called “acceptable risks”. A farm kid is willing by age fifteen to go out and do some fairly dangerous things, and knows he’ll survive. By age eighteen....he’s done more things to get killed than half the guys in the Army today. A farm kid knows the value of duct tape. A farm kid knows the character and suffering of a hurt animal. A farm kid seeks shelter in a lightning storm because it’s the right to do. A farm kid knows to continually scan across high grass for copperhead snakes. A farm kid worries about maintenance for dad’s tractor because if it fails...the family farm is in jeopardy. What you have are a bunch of government guys who never stepped foot on farm....who want to make rules over it. Kinda like some liberal arts professor who wants to fix the NCAA bowl selection business.

Amen. As the son of a farmer, I learned more on the farm than in engineering school. A maintenance guy asked why I was will to work with nasty chemicals in some rather horrible areas. I said there isn't anything I will do in my adult life that is harder than what I had to for 18 years on the hog farm.

Yes, that's true for sure. Destroy strong family ties and eventually you get kids informing on their parents for 'breaking the law' or being 'unpatriotic' (gee, where have we seen that before).

And you're right again about kids learning a work ethic when young like farm kids do. Without it you eventually get a bunch of young adults just waiting for their gubmint check. Or a gubmint job that's 'given' to them but they're incapable of doing. (like the Occupy loons are demanding -- GIMME FREE STUFF and a high paying job I can't do, but PAY ME anyway!)

[I HAD TO get a job almost from the day after I graduated HS. It was that or my mom and I would've starved (no handouts from the G taxpayers for us). But that's life so you deal with it.]

Most all the wisdom I've gained has been on farmes and ranches.

I wonder, what would Jesus sound like and all those parables if He was required to speak PC in this day and age. Would they have crucified Him sooner or a mental hospital? It's very scary. I mean even if He healed all AIDs and all the land and fed the starving 2,000 years ago he endured six illegal trials and was put to death. Would He even have a soap box in this day and age? "As were the days of Noah...Mt 24:36-39."

They will seek out five or six and crucify them and everyone will fall in line.

That was my thought. Kind of nostalgic, if you're a Nazi. (Can I say that?)

Exactly. They’d rather these kids depend upon the government instead.

But look at all the illegals you would put of work! /sarc

Look how many children call CPS on their parents when the parents make them do ultra light chores instead of playing video games all day??!

The divorce industry bolsters the phenomenon of divorced biomoms colluding with the children to exact revenge on dad by reporting him to CPS for daring to parent his own children on “visitation” (challenging biomom’s parenting sovereignty a.k.a befriending the children as opposed to parenting, which is reinforced by today’s family court)

Here’s an article that is appropo albeit in Bulgaria. Slippery slope.

“The Marxists champion the interests of the masses and say to the peasants: there is no salvation for you except by joining in the proletarian struggle. The bourgeois professors and the Narodniks are deceiving the masses with fables about small “family” farming under capitalism.” -Joseph Lenin, September 1918, Pravda.

And knowing this, get Ted Nugent and some other hell-raisers together and tell the Feds that they will bring a multi-million dollar war chest, a flying squad of dream-team lawyers and a determination to identify, name and shame every official with a direct connection to this act, right down to the lowest coffee boy in the office. Make their social lives “interesting” in the old Chinese sense. Bring about a situation that has their own family members asking them uncomfortable questions. Psy-ops can be a two-way street.

Then now is the time to organize and plan out what happens when the agents come to town. Don’t wait for them to come, start buddying up, building up connections and solidarity and have a game plan in place, even if it’s just a convoy following the no-goodniks around and honking horns. See how they like it when no business in the area will serve them, and no one will talk to them.
