Let's put this to bed. We have bigger fish to fry.

Everyone please send whatever you are able to, whether it is $10, $100 or $1,000+. The DUmmies, Morons, Kos Kiddies and that crew are laughing up their sleeves. Jim may have to make this site members only or allow ads. Better for us to just help with what we can. Maybe you can donate as a memorial for a lost loved one, a servicemember who never made it home or was disabled defending our country. Perhaps you'd like to give to keep free discussion alive and to show them that we're not knuckling under. I'm sure a well thought out or prayerful meditation will lead you to see the need and how you can help. If every registered FReeper and our lurkers would each just help out with a fin or a sawbuck, or better yet a Ben Franklin, we could put this to bed and get on with the conservative cause.

I am deeply saddened that RC is hard to find in Minnesota.
I think -- without much evidence other than the occasional business trip -- that it is primarily a "Southern" brand these days.
It had much more 'bite' than Coke and Pepsi.
And yes, "RC" does stand for "Royal Crown"...
Cheers!

Poor analogy, as there are a number of other sites who lock their doors and flip off FR.

Your conclusion may be correct if the story ended here today. But lets just wait a while longer to see if shes really one who has caused damage to the Conservative (Tea Party) Movement. Lets see how things unfold these next few months. Okay?Point taken. And I will say Palin has also done some very, very good things and I am certainly not blaming her for ALL the wreckage of this primary season. It was really just a discussion of how/why the anti-Perry venom got so nasty. Sarah just endorsed Mourdock which is excellent, without her McCain would have lost even worse (which would have meant an even bigger GOP bloodbath in the House/Senate), she has been instrumental in elevating a lot of great Tea Party candidates like Nikki Haley, etc, etc.

Thanks. No, I’m not here to praise Sarah. But I sure am curious to see what she may have up her sleeve next. I still think some of her detractors have her pegged wrong.

You can’t blame the mods. I instructed them to lay low. I knew the primary was going to be a blood batch on all sides and there was no way we could stop it. We are adults here. Shouldn’t need a nanny.

But he just couldnt stop be in a in your face playah Whatever happened to the suits against him? Why did the accusers, their lawyer, and coverage of the cases all cease in toto the moment he dropped out of the race?
Obviously a mere pretext to attack him, or coverage of the cases (you know, the "war on women" meme carried on so "successfully" via Sandra Fluck the Trojan Whorse and the attacks on Ann Romney as never having worked a day in her life) would have continued.
Your bias is apparently clouding your perception.
Cheers!

You know how the economy is hurting all of us... and I have already given $100.00 this time... but some of us that can just have to do more. I will send in another $50.00 on Monday.
Like you, I can understand why some feel that they must vote for romney... I have used that logic for all but two elections in my lifetime. Reagan was one that I was happy to vote for. romney is the absolute worst candidate the gop/e could have mustered... short of susan collins or olympia snowe... or may old jim jeffords who finally went over to the darkside. Maybe they can talk arlen specter into switching back and running. These are romney’s peers.
Jim, I can live with FReepers voting for that baby killing sob but I cannot come to FR and see MAJOR LIES like have been posted in support of romney here on this thread. We have people trying to use Reagan to promote mitt... not by building mitt up to appear Reaganesque but they tear down Reagan to mitt's subterranean level.
ALL of you that must vote for mitt (I will not)... do so... just do not try and sell that bastard for anything other than what he is. Some of you may lie to yourselves to make yourselves feel better about the horrible choice that you face... but please do not come here and try to sell your lies about a man FR knows well. Vote for him if you must but recognize who and what he is and leave the bullsh!t for another website.
LLS
Right on and God bless you, LibLieSlayer!
FReepers can vote however they please, but always pray ahead of time!
WE ARE THE RESISTANCE!
Resistance to Tyranny is Obedience to God.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EXTRA GENEROUS DONATION!!!

If all the people who say theyre leaving FR actually leave, we may be able to get by with less anyway. Your house, your decision Boss, but don't let a lot of big mouths putting out little more than hot air and bad breath derail your vision and purpose.
There ain't that many of them for the noise they're making, reminds me a lot of the *occupy movement*, never were, aren't and never will be much of anything when you come right down to the reality of it.

Just like Old Times, someone trashing Palin.
You have it backwards: Romney's early scorched earth backstabbing *prevented* Palin.
And as for your last line? I think a LOT of guys dream of it. Those of morality don't, for morality's sake; those of prudence don't, remembering Todd; liberals DO, because they have no self control to speak of.

Thank you very much, Cajun!! When we get through with this FReepathon and decide to run a special fundraiser for the equipment we can do so. Or we can just do some short term borrowing on plastic and we can pay for it out of our ongoing budget and regular FReepathons. Probably what I should’ve done anyway. I think we’ll be ok.

When we get through with this FReepathon and decide to run a special fundraiser for the equipment we can do soIn addition to fundraiser, what about asking members if they have equipment to donate directly? Many people here no doubt work for IT firms, huge companies, etc. There is a LOT of extra (and perfectly good) network/computer gear around. If folks know what you need, many might be able to donate stuff they or their companies are not using. I see an awful lot of good stuff (even high end servers, etc) at many of my clients simply collecting dust, utterly unused, or donated to schools and such.
To: Longbow1969
The venom was aimed at EVERY candidate. It was (and still is) flying hot and heavy from every direction. I didn’t think that Perry caught any more than the rest. I think Palin caught most (and she wasn’t even in the race) and Gingrich caught hell. And a lot of them came down hard on Bachmann. Perry’s “heartless” comment didn’t do him any good.
To: Jim Robinson
You cant blame the mods. I instructed them to lay low. I knew the primary was going to be a blood batch on all sides and there was no way we could stop it.For the most part they've been fine, certainly on the primary wars. Primaries, as we both know, are bloody affairs on FR and elsewhere.

I'm bad with user names, and forgive me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember you being chief among these people that were certain Palin was running and unable to accept that she wasn't. You are wrong.
Proof is that Palin announced on October 5, 2011 that she would not run for the nomination.
On October 2, I posted
Sarah Palin in "The Undecided," or, Only Her Halibut Knows for Sure
and on October 5, I was at work, but FReepmailed nathan_bedford and asked him to post the following for me:
Sarah Ringbearer, or, A Gift From Frodo
With that last one in mind, it is obvious that some are trying to proceed with The Scouring of The Shire: but Romney/Sharkey, and various Shirriffs/Ted Sandyman types, even here on FR, are making it more difficult.
Whether her motives were noble or just an effort to stay in the spotlight, I don't know. But the impact of her delayed decision did conservatives no favors.
Read my piece Only Her Halibut Knows For Sure; and, after that, the legendary Mrs. Whiskers pointed out an interview Palin had on TV (maybe on Hannity? -- I referred to it in regular posts when it happened) that Palin looked literally shaken -- as though she had received credible bodily threats to her or her family; or maybe it was the rumours of the one-night stand with the U of Michigan basketball player, with promises of further similar tales to be promulgated. Mrs. Whisk. is of the opinion that Palin was literally threatened, in no uncertain terms, in ways she was unprepared to deal with, and decided to fold. And having been married to my wife for so long (decades and decades), I have learned to trust her intuition and feel for interpersonal motivations. Your mileage may vary.
NO cheers, unfortunately.

THAT was my strong sense at the time, as well.
Thanks to Mrs W for the confirmation.

Who knows? why did he roll so easy? He saw what they'd already done to Sarah, and is old and wise enough to know he didn't need to go through all of that himself.
I trust him simply by the look in his wife's eyes.
If he'd been cheating, we'd have seen it there.
Cheers!

I agree with your assessment. Palin’s tease campaign was a disaster for conservatism. Her fans systematically destroyed every candidate with an ounce of conservatism in them until we got down to Romney/Gingrich/Santorum and then she announces she’s not running when our choices are gone.
I had many fights here with Palinistas over their rabid support of the candidate-that-might-be over the candidates that are actually running and deserve support. Unfortunately, St Sarah of Wasilla never donned her armor and rode up to lead the army and now we all have to choose between Romney and Obama—the ultimate pair of sh!t sandwiches (one on white, one on wheat).

Sad to hear, but you do what you think best. I sat in my here in my chair too long yesterday, reading complaints from malcontented posters, whom for small part said they have already left, that when I got up to go eat dinner, I could barely walk, so I called it an early night.
I'm glad I missed all the ensued nastiness from anti-Freepers whom I see were consequently banned.
I'm sure you could see from the others members that some are unhappy or were unhappy but they'ere sticking here with you and us. FReepers have always been the absolute best.
This vociferous disruptive group can and should take a hike. We are the Resistance!

The forum is not as consequential as many of the posters think it is. There was a day, back in the Xlinton years that it was. But sadly no longer.
Some posters may have you convinced that is true. A lot of people seem to be trying to convince FReepers that the site's best days are over. If our principles are not abandoned or covered over to placate those who are not sincere, this site will always be needed by and consequential to our Nation.
Don't look back.

Still bashing Palin, eh? Got nothing better to do?

Self-preservation is a funny thing and she took a whole lot before she started fighting back!
I remember when she would post an article supporting Perry and would be attacked immediately.
If you remember otherwise, you were late to the party!

So sad. We could’ve been a contender if only we’d bowed to the GOP-e and gone along with their big tent (abortionist/homosexualist/statist) philosophy. /s
Hell, Jim’s just in it for the money anyway. He could be rich if he’d just go with the company line. You got to go along to get along.
No thanks! We are the resistance!!
If not us, who? If not now, when?

>>Still bashing Palin, eh? Got nothing better to do?
She betrayed conservatism by not freeing her supporters to move on to another candidate when we had 9 candidates. I supported her until she wasn’t in the race for the first or second debate. After that, I knew she wasn’t coming to the dance and I started looking for a new date, but many stood in the parking lot, pining away for her. So now we have Romney vs Obama and it is forbidden to support either here, so I’m mostly sticking to religious discussion until after November.
