>> Provided my vote will be counted, recorded and published, I am voting for Sarah Louise Palin. <<

Hey, let’s face reality for a change:

Such a vote won’t be counted in any meaningful way, because when you vote in a Presidential election, you aren’t actually voting for a candidate. No, you are voting for a slate of ELECTORS who are pledged to a particular candidate.

In other words, unless Sarah Palin in fact has a slate of electors on the ballot in your state (whichever one of the 57 your state may be), there’s no way on earth you can actually vote for Sarah.

I’m not saying who you should vote for, but I agree, a write-in does nothing but waste your gas driving to the voting booth. They aren’t even looked at. It may make you feel good, but it is symbolism over substance if your vote doesn’t have electors.

If you are determined to not vote for Obama or Romney, then look down the list.

Heck, no matter how much he has annoyed us at times (all due respect Tom), there is always voting for FR’s own Eternal Vigilance if he gets on the ballot. At least you know you have a vote for someone who meets all the Conservative criteria. (this is not an endorsement).

It is your vote, but the calls for a ‘write in’ campaign do nothing but meet emotional needs for a brief second when you are writing that name. (I’m keeping how I’m going to myself at this point.)

And what about once Palin endorses Romney? Then a vote for Palin is either contradicting her own stated wishes, or she’s a CINO and a sellout not worthy of a vote in the first place.

It's actually even more hilariously ridiculous really. Palin herself is ABO, will be supporting Romney, will almost certainly campaign for him, speak on his behalf at the convention, etc. So, in effect, some people are declaring their intent to write in a candidate, Sarah Louise Palin, who will be advocating FOR Romney's election - something that is technically banned on this very site on which they post.

And as another poster pointed out, I don't think Sarah would want people canceling out her vote anyway. Palin is ABO, she isn't running for President, she has no slate of electors, writing in her name achieves absolutely nothing and she'd probably be upset that any conservative wasted their vote that way.
