Thanks for responding to LucyT on this - I’ve been away. Dave Gardner died in 1983. Wikipedia has an informative life and career description EXCEPT for their cheap-shot characterization of him as racist. Of course, that’s the typical left-wing Wiki bias we all know and expect.

Flip Wilson’s “Geraldine” character was inspired by Brother Dave. He was a gentle, funny man and gave me many laughs back in the day as I enjoyed an Ar-Uh-See Cola, Moon Pie and peanuts... /g
