TX Congressman Poe Calls for Resignation of EPA Official Who wanted to "Crucify" Oil & Gas Producers
Daily Caller ^ | 4/26/12 | Caroline May

Posted on 04/27/2012 6:51:28 AM PDT by davidbellow

“They’d go into a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw and they’d crucify them,” said Armendariz. “And then you know that town was really easy to manage for the next few years. And so you make examples out of people who are in this case not compliant with the law.”

“The comments made by Administrator Armendariz back in 2010 confirm what we’ve known all along: the EPA’s crusade to destroy the oil and gas industry is a politically premeditated effort, not one meant to protect the environment,” Poe said. “Administrator Armendariz’s words reflect his disdain for the oil and gas industry and make clear that his decisions are made without an ounce of impartiality. He should be fired.”

“The oil and gas industry accounts for 9.2 million jobs in the United States. ‘Making examples’ of this field has put American jobs in jeopardy,” Poe added. “Ironically, Mr. Armendariz’s oversees the EPA’s efforts in Texas, which has been hit especially hard. Oil and gas and related industries make up nearly a quarter of the Texas economy. An assault on oil and gas is an assault on Texas.”

Caroline May is really on top of Texas politics. In her latest article on the Daily Caller, Caroline reports on Texas Congressman Ted Poe's call for EPA official Al Armendariz to resign after publicly stating that he wanted to "crucify" oil and gas producers.

Screw the idea of getting rid of one worthless bureaucrat.... ELIMINATE the entire EPA.

Then follow suit with the Department of Energy, Department of Education and the Department of Labor.

For starters, of course.

Resignation? The guy should be in cuffs for extortion as far as I am concerned. He basically said hurt ‘em until they comply and who cares whose first. How many millions did this jack wagon kill off in the economy because of his “roman” approach?

That was Saddam Hussein's methodology - terrorize his subjects!

We don't need no Saddam Hussein here.

I said it before - I'll say it again

Boehner, DEFUND them! Now!

If the find, and they will, past actions that this official has performed which qualify as singling out and “crucifying” an oil related business,

he should be prosecuted for a civil rights violation and abuse of power.

One can hope, but don't be surprised if he resurfaces in a higher position if Obama is reelected...

And this vicious Leftist was teaching at SMU. That board of regents must be so proud. There may be lots of SMU alumni in the oil bidness in Texas who are not taking kindly to the crucifixion idea.

Is there a term in Islam that packs the same emotional punch as “crucify” does for Christians?

Would this liberal POS substitute that term for “crucify” in his diatribe against oil and gas (and, by the way, job) producers?

I didn’t think so.

Has Romney said anything about this yet or has he played it safe aka SCARED and been quiet? He should be running with this, standing with business leaders and asking WHY this man is killing jobs?

Could be - regional appointees within the executive branch are easily replaced - there may even be a Kennedy lurking nearby, ready to serve as an interim regional administrator. Wasn't RFK, Jr. considered for the job that eventually went to Lisa Jackson?
