Ahh...Mac Davis! My “neighbor” from north of here...Lubbock, Texas! :)

Thanks, maestro, for more great stories of the evolution of a songwriter/performer!

Our early spring fizzled, more seasonal weather recently.

I think they hit the snooze alarm and went back to sleep.

Black widow spiders are biting.

The occasional loose profanity would show up in pop music lyrics, but until Mac Davis came along, no one had used the word “hell” in the title as anything but a reference to the nether regions. Here it was being used as a point of emphasis. This was groundbreaking, as was the greater explicitness of the lyrics. Note the opening guitar riff, which sounds like a muted version of the Rolling Stones guitar riff that opens “Satisfaction”. For 1974, it was too much soul and too little country for Nashville, which is why it ended up being recorded in Muscle Shoals.

Mac Davis: “One Hell of a Woman”

Hi AZ! and (((HUGS))) back. I’m on an email list from one of my brother’s friends and he forwards them to me. I like to share those great pictures of our guys past and present. Week went well, thanks. Been doing some orientation flights and am setting up a ground school for some of the locals that are interested in flying. A couple of kids from the local HS as well. Cheers for Now ... Janey

Good evening, AZ...*HUGS*...did you have a kind and gentle commute?

Work wise, week ended too soon. Monday will be swamped.

The folks are really slowing. Email from home that my Dad hadn’t gotten up all day( except for bathroom breaks). Hopefully he will be up when I get home (leaving soon) and Mom said she couldn’t make it to the mailbox unaided. She is still fighting a walker. I think I’m gonna have to push that issue.

Aloha, Biglook! PT is going well - Wednesday night's session was particularly vigorous. Still sore from it 48 hours later.

How are things going with you?

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

I got a hug from a soldier today...

There was a young man in the store today looking for a going away gift for his girl, because he is going to Ft. Benning, Ga, for basic training in the Army.

My manager was waiting on him and was making suggestions, and I showed him the patriotic jewelry that I was wearing today, including the charm pictured above. I also told him that I wear red every Friday to support our brave troops. He turned to me and said, "Well...I just HAVE to give you a hug!"

And he did. It made my day.
