Romneycare Funded Health-Care for Illegal Immigrants (October 24, 2011)

Mitt Romney, who has called government-funded programs that offer assistance to illegal immigrants “magnets” that draw more illegal immigrants to the country, allowed a health-care program that helps illegal immigrations to be included in the final version of his health-care program that he signed. From the Los Angeles Times:

The Massachusetts healthcare law that then-Gov. Mitt Romney signed in 2006 includes a program known as the Health Safety Net, which allows undocumented immigrants to get needed medical care along with others who lack insurance.

Uninsured, poor immigrants can walk into a health clinic or hospital in the state and get publicly subsidized care at virtually no cost to them, regardless of their immigration status.

The official the Romney campaign pointed the LA Times to denied that it was designed to help illegal immigrants:

The Romney campaign referred questions to Tim Murphy, who served as Romney’s state health and human services secretary. Murphy said the governor never intended the Health Safety Net to serve undocumented immigrants.

“Our view when we signed the law was that all benefits would be for people in the commonwealth who were here legally,” Murphy said, noting that the regulations implementing the program were written after Romney left office in 2007.

But Massachusetts officials involved in crafting the healthcare law said there was broad understanding when Romney signed it that at least some people who would benefit would be in the country illegally.

Romney is going to get stomped anyway. You better pray to God that enough 3rd party voters show up to save the down ticket races cause Lord Mittsworth ain’t gonna get the job done.

Yes it's all true but at least Romney is a Severe conservative and will hide his spending of our hard earned labor on government control of our lives instead of openly doing it like 0bama does.

That makes Romney a MUCH better prospective POTUS for conservatives than 0bama.

After all, it isn't Massachusetts that made Romney such a GREAT governor, it's what Romney did to Massachusetts that made him so great!

THAT is why conservatives are flooding into Massachusetts to live out their lives in conservative peace.

Romney will do that all on his own.

He doesn't need any ones help by them staying home.

Gotta' love the attitude however, "Go out and vote for a liberal NE socialist political hack or you are a conservative hating a**hole unworthy of living in America".

Sorry to rain on your parade but.......all countries with Socialized Medicine cover anyone within their borders. My relatives from Britain have always had to buy coverage for health insurance whenever they travel here. Not so in countries with Socialized Medicine. I have to admit, I had no idea that I might need health insurance when I first traveled to Europe. So, if the SCOTUS doesn’t nullify the whole law, we are in for heap big medical costs. Another nugget that hasn’t been reported on by Big Media!

The state with THE LARGEST “Debt to GDP Ratio” in the United States...

http://www.usdebtclock.org/state-debt-clocks/state-of-massachusetts-debt-clock.html

From March 2, 2010...

The federal government and Massachusetts government are in desperate need of money. The federal budget deficit is estimated at $1.6 trillion this fiscal year. Here in Massachusetts, the state is trying to close a $2.75 billion budget gap. Increasing taxes in an election year is a political taboo. However, the government also employs less overt strategies to increase tax revenues. One strategy being used by both the US and Massachusetts government is to increase tax enforcement. The most typical tax enforcement activity is an audit by either the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR).

is there a state in the union that denies “ needed medical care’ to ANYONE?
No, it is a federal law

and saying there was an “ understanding” this meant all illegals could get all kinds of medical care doesn’t provide proof that is actually in the law.

I did not want Romney, heck i didn’t want mcCain
but i want and still want either of them over BO

Yet more myths. Staying home doesn’t help anyone do anything - only voting does that.

You are wasting your time here, these Romney haters are so blind that they will let Obama back in while we have three supreme court judges over 75, one is 81 and they want Obama to be picking the new replacements. How did he do on the last two. Talk about cutting off your nose despite your face. NO matter how much people hate Romney, would you rather have Bozo picking the judges?

“Romney is going to get stomped anyway.”

Is Romney going to lose NC, FL, VA, IN, NH, OH & NV? I doubt it.

Some people will be fighting the ‘primaries’ all the way into November. They think emotionally with their hearts instead of with their brains.

I was a Palin supporter until she decided to opt out of the most important election in our lifetimes, then proceeded to give out ‘state by state’ endorsements, instead of fulling committing to one single conservative candidate.

Then Newt and Rick decided that it was more important for each of them to run their campaigns into the ground and split the conservative vote than to meet and decide which of them had the best resources and support to block Romney. Well we can thank both of them for Romney.

Now Romney will be the nominee, and our only chance of stopping Obama, and some are still hell bent on making sure that they stay home pouting or throw their vote away to give Obama another 4 More Years.

...and we’re left wondering why the GOPe is laughing all the way to WA DC?
