LAS VEGAS — Using a hammer as a weapon, a “complete stranger” with no significant criminal history allegedly chose a family at random and attacked them in their home, killing a woman and her daughter, in a brutal crime that left investigators both baffled and aghast.
Bryan Clay, 22, was arrested Friday in the April 15 rape and bludgeoning deaths of 38-year-old Ignacia Martinez and 10-year-old Karla Martinez. He had no connection to the family of five, Lt. Ray Steiber said Saturday.

In the earlier attack, the 50-year-old woman was walking near an intersection when an assailant forced her into a nearby desert area and violently sexually assaulted her April 15. “(She was) chased, beaten and raped,” Steiber said.

Some thugs broke into a victims home who tortured and finally killed the victim. At the end of the movie, just before they were killed, the victim asked the thugs why they were doing it. The reply was,,,”because you were home.” They just wanted to torture and kill someone for fun, and all the victims neighbors on the street were out for the night.

It sort of reminds me of a Russian method of flaying I had read about in which a horizontal incision is made at the base of the neck and a small amount of skin is pulled back forming a bit of a pocket. Mercury is slowly poured into the pocket, and as gravity pulls it down, it separates the skin from the body all the way down.

Looking at this objectively for a moment, something is very odd here. About the only time I’ve heard of an individual going on an ultraviolent rampage of this type it was in a methamphetamine psychosis.
The police seemed to be baffled as well. Parts to this story just make no sense if he was even halfway sane.
The crime happened on the 15th, and as soon as they had the DNA back and tested they probably knew where the suspect lived and just went and picked him up.
What was up with the 2 brothers? They didn’t call the cops but they went to school the next day?
I don’t want to seem unsympathetic, this was a terrible thing that happened to their family, but they are old enough to call 911.

I wouldn’t be too harsh on them without know the facts. They were certainly traumatized and likely were threatened with CONSEQUENCES if they did or told anybody. Young children can be very gullible. The important thing is that they have the SCUMBAG “would look a son-of-Obama if he had a son” in custody now.

IMHO it wastes—and perhaps even perverts—society’s emotional and spiritual energies to think and talk that way.
Then again, some of it is borne of frustration out of the incredible waste of society’s resources to ‘punish’ the offenders, if that is even the right word for what actually happens to them.
Why wouldn’t a quick 50 cent double-tap to the brain pan be enough, and then we all get on with life?
And the way things are going, we might soon need about one every six minutes nationwide, 24x7x365, to survive as a society.
