Voting for Romney (D-Mass.): The Worst Mistake a Conservative Could Make
Country Thinker ^ | april 7, 2012 | Ted Lacksonen

Posted on 04/30/2012 9:14:40 AM PDT by Mozilla

Why am I so passionate today? Well, most readers who visit here know the country is in deep doo-doo. I’m here to tell you that voting for Mitt Romney (D-Mass.) will not change that fact and may make things worse. I will explain two things. First, Romney (D-Mass.) is the presumptive Republican nominee precisely because he will do nothing to improve our country’s fortunes. He is the chosen one because he will maintain the status quo. That is what the GOP machine has chosen him to do.

Second, you cannot “take over” the Republican machine and turn it into something in decent. I have made that statement before, but I’m going to describe the machine in greater detail. Keep in mind that this is information I have obtained from current and former GOP insiders. Everyone on the inside agrees that the Party has been constructed so it cannot be taken over. They have also constructed a political system so the political duopoly is very, very difficult to challenge. (Republican insiders HATE political freedom, like so many other freedoms.) Whether that’s a good thing or bad thing is a matter of judgment. For conservatives and libertarians it’s bad. For establishmentarians it’s wonderful.

Finally I will explain why voting for Romney (D-Mass.) is the worst thing you can do, regardless of whether you’re a “principals” voter or a “strategic” voter.

If you are not one hundred percent convinced that I am correct in those statements, you absolutely must read the rest of this piece and tell me where I’m wrong. I know I’m correct, and I can assure you that if you vote for Romney (D-Mass.) it will be the greatest political regret of your life.

You are basing your decision on Romney's past.

Yes ... yes, I am. For the good of America I hope the number of conservatives that do the same vastly outnumber those with only good intentions and wishful thinking. Like you, I am basing my decision on the good of future generations. I make the stand today with my blood, sweat, and tears in hopes that they will not have to. I understand that you are doing what you feel is right -- and I respect you for it. After years of seeing the results of voting for the lesser of two evils, I'm going to try something different. I plan to vote for Goode.

So, go hold your breath until you get your way

Only an immature person would keep comparing people who refuse to vote for a pro-abort, big govt socialist as children.

I've seen dead aborted children up close and personal. Have you? I've seen a dead miscarried baby (where I could make out the sex of that child). Have you?

And yet you openly go to bat for someone who told Katie Couric Dec of 07 that PARENTS could give up their offspring to "research."

These are sober, serious issues. And you want to keep it all on the level of holding one's breath???

I suppose for your next verbosity, you'll talk about posters taking their "toys" and "going home."

If you'll notice, 'twas the people who tended to vote with their wallet who gave us the liberal businessman, Mitt Romney, to begin with...

The true "toys" -- are the materialist toy-accumulaters who vote for themselves first...self-survivalists who can't understand the basic Christ-spoken theme of picking up our cross and following Him...

Did you want to go there? You know once someone pulled out the ‘i’m a real conservative card’ on me. Of course to him,as to you the only conservative was someone that agreed with him. You understand that narrow minded approach guarantees nothing but smaller and smaller cliques as time passes. The intended insult of labeling us ‘so called conservatives’. What does the word conservative mean to you?
Constitution? Does it contain fiscal policy as well? Give us “so called conservatives” your definition so we know what we have to live up to. But if i were you i’d make it good because you threw a bunch of names into your insult.

As to trying to convince you it was certainly never my intent. The article at top however was designed to get as many people to sit out the election as possible.
This is a forum. An article is posted. People enter opinions from more than two sides of a questions. That’s what goes on here. If i wanted to go where there was only one opinion allowed i’d be elsewhere.

You and INVAR really come across as a couple of self-stroking anarchists. I really think both of you need some counseling. Reality is a Mistress not to be ignored.

But the GOP has him effectively neutered legislatively, so there is little for him to do there.

That's a hoot. The GOP is in bed with him. Legislatively? Another hoot with all his late Friday executive orders.

OK, I was hoping for something original though. We all have heard this for years now.

Our elections depend on those individuals that choose to run. Unfortunately, these people are usually politicians...

Having a “life time view” and a “world view/ big picture view” is just a wonderful thing. BUT it helps to take each circumstance as it comes your way and deal with it straight on. Right now you will be confronted with Obama vs. Romney, like it or not. So you write in your own name or someone else that has no chance what soever. How is that helping your ,say, grandson who already owes the government over $50,000? I'll tell you a big secret, if you really want to know the future, read the Book of Revelation. According to that, we are right where we should be at this time in history. I challenge you to find America in that book. Where do you think it went?

[I'd say that's rather consistent with the end-times view as depicted by Jesus...see Matthew 24...Paul (see 2 Timothy 3)...John (see Revelation)...]

But, of course, if you're some "idealist" that things are somehow going to "get better" because of some "political relativistic" notion...that tossing away the meaning behind the pro-life plank because we have a pro-abort running as an (r)...or yielding ANY crit of Obama's socialistic healthcare because we now have the original pioneer master of it running as an (r)...etc...

Then, by all means, be sure to conservatively mentor us, then re: this 'new' "conservative confession" we're all to embrace...

...we at least listen.

Or is that what is being fomented here ... revolution?

Well if the alternative is to be forced to fund murders through government run institutions of socialized medicine, maybe that's what this country needs. Now to play it safe, let's all go read Civil Disobedience before the DHLS sends the Federali’s to throw us in the clink.

America won’t survive another 4 of Hussein. Her death will merely be slower with Romney. Even if she survived 4 years under either of them it will be Hillary v Romney II or Hillary v Rubio meaning another fixed election. Something killed off the last conservative in DC back around 2005.

Maybe you’re that guy. I thought Palin was. Maybe she still will be. What can we do? Hope we recognize that person/s. Then pitch in where we can. I wish i had something new and intelligent to tell you but i think we have 2 entrenched parties and its going to be hard, bark breaking and soul wrenching work to make inroads.

So, now you essentially accuse those who support the defeat of 0bama of being baby-killers? Drama queen.

One of two things happens in November: Obama is elected or Romney is elected. That's it. No third option, no third party, no Sarah to ride to the rescue, no brokered convention. I don't want the former to happen. Period. Do you?

Having a “life time view” and a “world view/ big picture view” is just a wonderful thing. BUT it helps to take each circumstance as it comes your way and deal with it straight on. Right now you will be confronted with Obama vs. Romney, like it or not. So you write in your own name or someone else that has no chance what soever. How is that helping your ,say, grandson who already owes the government over $50,000? I'll tell you a big secret, if you really want to know the future, read the Book of Revelation. According to that, we are right where we should be at this time in history.

Let's start with your comment re: a grandson who already owes the government over $50,000.

I think if our convo extended enough we could come to the same conclusion that the basic problem here is that BOTH Dems & Republican congressmen & POTUS(es) -- with Dems being the far worse culprits -- have refused in recent times...I'd say since the Gingrich "Contract with America" that ran out...what? 16 years ago?

So for a decade-and-a-half we've had leaders on both sides (again, with Dems being far worse) who have refused to "bite the bullet" NOW!

Instead, they have chosen to mortgage future generations.

Well, just as that is true financially and budget-wise, the same Waterloo is before us now re: the size of govt, re: appointing liberal judges, re: abortion, etc.

We have TWO mainstream liberal candidates running. And just as our Congressional/POtus leaders have refused to bit the bullet financially over these past 16 years, we now see the same is true of many conservative voters (re: size of govt, social-issues, socialized healthcare, endorsing idolatry, moral issues, etc.)

They don't want to "bite the political bullet" in 2012.
They want to pass on the problem of RINOs to future generations.
They want to pass on the problem of pro-abortion (Rs) to future generations.
They want to pass on the problem of big-govt POTUS candidates to future generations.
They want to pass on the problem of socialism to future generations.

So.

Just stop complaining then about Dems who refuse to "bite the bullet" re: budgets and socialized healthcare and protecting the next generation emerging from the womb.

Why? Because you've embraced somebody who's a Dem photocopy of these very same issues.

It is also a liar, which indicates it's a democrat trying to establish deep cover for divide and conquer work the obamanoids have as last resort.

And just for the record, I find Milt Rominy to be a loathesome creature. But I do not believe this America will survive another four years of the little bastard commie and his thugocracy. Rominy will only work out if we can elect a majority into the Seante who will hold the 'melchizedek high priest's feet to Constitution. If not, all we have done is stretched the collapse out a few short years. But we know how the Cloward-Piven strategy ends the Republic, and we can see what the little bastard commie is doing to the infrastructure for his elitist masters, and what he will do to the SCOTUS will end the rule of law and establish rule by the oligarchs. At least with Milt we are still guessing how socialist he is.
