New York is braced for May Day mayhem.
Workers are staring at hellacious commutes today when the flagging Occupy Wall Street movement hopes to get a second wind with a full slate of general strike" protests across the five boroughs.
That could not only make it difficult for people to get to their jobs, but it also could put angry demonstrators on a collision course with beefed-up police.
From Bryant Park to Bushwick, demonstrators will protest everything from economic injustice to school privatization in a series of planned and also potentially arrest-inducing unpermitted rallies, marches and walkouts.
If the Williamsburg Bridge-to-Wall Street march doesnt bog down traffic, the groups so-called Bike Bloc in Union Square will.
Workers who ignore the general-strike call will find it hard to get to their jobs.
Its touted as a day without the 99 percent seemingly disregarding the fact that most of the 99 percent actually works.
The activities are the biggest test of the movements organizing muscle since the winter.
Occupy groups in New York, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay area, Chicago and more than 100 other cities will join with immigrant groups and labor unions.

City run by liberals, shut down by liberals.
Can’t get my Caring gland to wake up.
These days the left is a mess, nothing they do in the activist/ideological sense has much appeal beyond its core cult. Only the money rackets are functioning for the left, and god willing we can starve that beast.
Why can’t anyone spell it out! The “Occupy” movement is a Communist movement! Even Hannity and Limbaugh don’t come right out and say it. Idiot Hannity never even described the Weather Underground or Bill Ayers as being communist. He would only refer to the WU as “domestic terrorists”. Bad enough, but it misses a major component of what was happening then and today.
Why is the NYPost running a press release for these idiots?
Deadbeats with no jobs celebrate “worker’s day” by preventing those who have jobs from getting to work.
Makes sense to me. /S
You got to be kidding!
I hear ya. My Give a Crap is pretty well busted as well.
This makes me smile a bit. Occupy was on its way to rival the tea party and influence those “independent” voters. Now they’ve relegated themselves (if they hadn’t gotten there almost entirely already) to a bunch of fringe anarchists with an axe to grind against Capitalism.
Way to riot yourself into irrelevancy, Occupy.
I've been there and seen them up-close. There's no "may" about it. They ARE ugly. Smelly and filthy too.
Bull shit. It was a Commie movement from the get-go.
In either case, they are useful idiots serving the ends of their statist masters. The more chaos they create, the more the populace at large will beg for increased government powers to restore order. The more they beg for a nanny state, the more the state will happily indulge them.
“Its touted as a day without the 99 percent seemingly disregarding the fact that most of the 99 percent actually works.”
Same crap with the so-called “anti-war” movement. It is entirely organized by communists. Namely, Communist Party USA (’anti-war’ front groups include = United for Peace and Justice, Peace Action), Workers World Party (’anti-war’ front groups include = ANSWER, Troops Out Now, Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) and the Revolutionary Communist Party (’anti-war’ front groups include = World Can’t Wait, Refuse And Resist).
.. and I mean that in the way that their hero Castro meant it.
Of course most of the participants are clueless dupes/dopes. I was referring to the movement's organizers. And the actual goal of the movement.
Stop trying to engage my enthusiasm because I haven’t got one.
The idea that a vanishingly small group of wackos can call themselves “the 99 percent” is beyond ludicrous!
And beyond a few hard-core communists and union activists, very few of the “Occupy” folks have any idea what they’re trying to accomplish. It was supposed to be about “inequality”, but various “Occupy” demonstrations have been about “gay rights”, against charter schools, and all sorts of other radical-liberal causes.
“Occupy” is basically a rent-a-mob. Now the unions are using them, later dictator obama’s campaign will use them. Phooey to them!!!!
