President Obama zipped through Afghanistan Tuesday on a previously unannounced visit, signing a key partnership document with Afghan President Hamid Karzai as he prepared to deliver an address to the nation on the anniversary of Usama bin Laden's death.

In excerpts released in advance of the address, the president made sweeping statements about the course and eventual conclusion of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

"We have traveled through more than a decade under the dark cloud of war. Yet here, in the pre-dawn darkness of Afghanistan, we can see the light of a new day on the horizon," he plans to say, praising America's troops and making a call to "renew America."

"This time of war began in Afghanistan, and this is where it will end," Obama said in the prepared remarks.

"...dark cloud of war"

Would've been racist if a white guy had said it.

Lucky me, this moron was on the radio while I was stuck in traffic because Michelle is in Albuquerque for a fund raiser and they closed the interstate.

"Lucky me, this moron was on the radio while I was stuck in traffic..."

I keep an extra length of hosepipe in my car so if I ever find myself in that situation, I can vent the exhaust directly into the passenger area.

What if they gave a campaign speech and nobody listened? He’s got a real problem (people turn off from listening when they’ve been lied to or disappointed for too long).

I have a rant boiling up inside me that has more force than a volcano.

First, this visit to Afghanistan....I got a bridge to sell anybody don’t think this is a campaign ploy. All paid for on the taxpayer dime but dear Lord, so okay....WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS?

Isn’t there some law somewhere that office holders shall not use the perks of their office to pay for their next election bid? What, you say, yon mealy mouthed Republicans who are part of the problem almost as much as Obama....you say it’s, eh, a bit difficult to enforce.

WELL TAKE THE DAMN THING OFF THE BOOKS!

Take off that bit about the President needing to have the consent of congress for certain appointments because Obama, right in front of every Republican’s cowardly eyes, makes four appoiintments during an alleged congressional recess...so he flips them the bird and they do what you say? Stand back and smile sheepishly you say? The air passes between their legs as there is nothing in between.

While yer at it, clear the books of that bit about the country’s Attorney General being obliged to obey the laws because, again, WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS?

A few of them are holding hearings on Fast and Furious but I’ve heard not anything out of Mumbles McConnell or Tears Boehner. Nothing’s being done about those Black Panthers putting a bounty of an American citizen’s life and let’s see, well hey, we got a shipload of Holder “crimes” and yet the Republicans...heh.

So McCain et al, they knew nothing about the Democrats giving everyone with a pulse a mortgage, thereby collapsing the home buyer market....they knew nothing? they shared cloak rooms and sometimes attended the same parties yet not one Democrat told one single Republican about that ongoing interference in America’s mortgage market?

NO WAIT! My bad. I forgot. McCain was busy with that campaign finance reform, him and Feingold wasn’t it? McCain was busy reaching across the aisle and I go to bed every night knowing how safe I am because of McCain’s dedication to that reform legislation and how much of his time it took. It was a matter so very important to the American public after all, no?

So there’s Obama being a jerk, not that there’s nothing new under the sun, using taxpayer dollars to go to Afghanistan and carry on like a wounded mule over his capture of Osama Bin Laden.

WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS?

Because having no viable opposition party is every bit as bad as having a flipping-the-bird, ignoring-the-law jerko in the White House.

He's playing his one-trick-pony card way too early. He's always got the race card but that one has kind of backfired on him in the past so I think he'll sparingly use that one.

Another call to worship - all state run media carrying it live, and including conservative talk radio stations. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Obama is in a holding pattern though he announced 3 years ago that he was exiting.

To GWBush’s credit, at least he was trying to win a war.

It is a horrendous thing to just sit around waiting to leave while your troops are being killed and maimed.

This is definitely history’s longest enduring retreat.

Obama should be impeached for it, not praised.

The bin laden story is as believable as the new birth certificate. This is a lie and a hoax just like everything else about this man.
