Posted on 05/01/2012 7:33:08 PM PDT by Mozilla
Many naive Americans believe that Mormonism is merely another branch of protestant Christianity. Well thats not what the founders and leaders of Mormonism believed.
According to its founder, Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young, Smiths successor, Mormons are the only true people of God on the earth. All non-Mormons and their religions are wrong, an abomination, blind, damned, of the devil, whores, not Christians, groveling in darkness, heathens, ignorant, devoid of fact, pagan and hatched in Hell.
When Romney made a speech about his religion in 2008 he refused to distance himself from his faith and fully affirmed his Mormonism. Responding to critics, Romney said,
"They would prefer it if I would simply distance myself from my religion, say that it is more a tradition than my personal conviction, or disavow one or another of its precepts. That I will not do. I believe in my Mormon faith and I endeavor to live by it. My faith is the faith of my fathers - I will be true to them and to my beliefs."
Romney, the father of homosexual marriage in America and abortion funding Romney Care in Massachusetts, flip-flops on virtually every issue, but he is adamant about his anti-Christian Mormonism. Romney needs the vote of Christians to win election, but he refuses to disavow one or another of its precepts.
Nor can anyone think Romney is merely a casual or cultural Mormon who just happened to be born Mormon. He is an active Bishop in the Mormon church hierarchy. He cannot pretend to be ignorant of the teaching of Joseph Smith and the other prophets of Mormonism.
Below is a list of quotes from Mormon leaders and official publications starting with Joseph Smith down to our day. The message is consistent and clear.

You might reread the Bible.
John Chapter 14:
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Fathers ahouse are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the away, the truth, and the life: no man ccometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the bFather, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I bgo unto my Father.
Mormons are SO lame; that only about 15% or so choose to answer these questions correctly.
Even if they have to lie to do it...
The pressure to get that temple recommend is so bad...
The tr represents their standing in their marriage family community job social life etc..
Mormonism controls just about every part of their lives..
and so they will lie..
7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
(Oh dear I said something nice to Tennessee Nana and agreed with her in a thread on FRee Republic the other day...
and shes one of those evil Christians..
Plus she wont be voting for our sainted Willie...
I better not mention that sin)
AH No never...
Our assurance is reassuring.
No way is Romney worse, but thats a bad thing to say here.
Oh; not at ALL!
You can say all the bad things you want about Romney here!
I grew up baptist, too...sometimes SBC and sometimes Independent Baptist.
I remember dad had a book about “babylon the great” — famous book among baptists. I don’t remember it’s name now.
But, you’re right, it pointed a huge finger at the Catholic Church.
Is BrighamYoung lying?
"For unbelievers we will quote from the Scriptures - "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God." Again - "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God."
I will now give my scripture - "Whosoever confesseth that Joseph Smith was sent of God to reveal the holy Gospel to the children of men, and lay the foundation for gathering Israel, and building up the kingdom of God on the earth, that spirit is of God; and every spirit that does not confess that God has sent Joseph Smith, and revealed the everlasting Gospel to and through him, is of Antichrist.......
Here's some MORE for MORMON's...
"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned; and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given, and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.
- JoD 3:266 (July 14, 1855)
It is true that the earth was organized by three distinct characters, namely, Eloheim, Yahovah, and Michael, these three forming a quorum, as in all heavenly bodies, and in organizing element, perfectly represented in the Deity, as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Again, they will try to tell how the divinity of Jesus is joined to his humanity, and exhaust all their mental faculties, and wind up with this profound language, as describing the soul of man, "it is an immaterial substance!" What a learned idea! Jesus, our elder brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven. Now, let all who may hear these doctrines, pause before they make light of them, or treat them with indifference, for they will prove their salvation or damnation.
I have given you a few leading items upon this subject, but a great deal more remains to be told. Now, remember from this time forth, and for ever, that Jesus Christ was not begotten by the Holy Ghost.
- JoD 1:50-51 (April 9, 1852)
The rank, rabid abolitionists, whom I call black-hearted Republicans, have set the whole national fabric on fire. Do you know this, Democrats? They have kindled the fire that is raging now from the north to the south, and from the south to the north. I am no abolitionist, neither am I a proslavery man; I hate some of their principles and especially some of their conduct, as I do the gates of hell. The Southerners make the negroes, and the Northerners worship them; this is all the difference between slaveholders. and abolitionists. I would like the President of the United States and all the world to hear this.
Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.
- JoD: vol.10 p. 110: (March 8, 1863)
It looks like BrighamYoung was pretty good at bashings.
Maybe you CAN distract folks from the TOPIC of this thread: Mitt Romneys Anti-Christian Religion
Pay closer attention:
Does your being here increase or decrease that problem?
*The following is a letter from Elder Lance B. Wickman, General Counsel of the Church to publishers of major newspapers, TV stations and magazines. It was sent out on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.
Recent events have focused the media spotlight on a polygamous sect near San Angelo, Texas, calling itself the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As you probably know, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has absolutely no affiliation with this polygamous sect. Decades ago, the founders of that sect rejected the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were excommunicated, and then started their own religion. To the best of our knowledge, no one at the Texas compound has ever been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Unfortunately, however, some of the media coverage of the recent events in Texas has caused members of the public to confuse the doctrines and members of that group and our church. We have received numerous inquiries from confused members of the public who, by listening to less than careful media reports, have come to a grave misunderstanding about our respective doctrines and faith. Based on these media reports many have erroneously concluded that there is some affiliation between the two or even worse, that they are one and the same.
Over the years, in a careful effort to distinguish itself, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has gone to significant lengths to protect its rights in the name of the church and related matters. Specifically, we have obtained registrations for the name The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mormon, Book of Mormon and related trade and service marks from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and corresponding agencies in a significant number of foreign countries.
We are confident that you are committed to avoiding misleading statements that cause unwarranted confusion and that may disparage or infringe the intellectual property rights discussed above. Accordingly, we respectfully request the following:
Stated simply, we would like to be known and recognized for whom we are and what we believe, and not be inaccurately associated with beliefs and practices that we condemn in the strongest terms. We would be grateful if you could circulate or copy this letter to your editorial staff and to your legal counsel.
We thank you for your consideration of these important matters.
Lance B. Wickman
No; Ma'am. We get ONE day off every week!

The church would just LOVE for you folks to come to THEIR website and praise Romney to your hearts content.
Good luck with your new-found project.
Keep on equating ANY religion to Islam, the most evil ideology the planet has ever seen, it just makes you look clueless and ignorant.
I didnt want to leave you with the impression that I dont know things about Mormonism that you already know...
For instance I do know that Joey Smith did try hard to make Mormonism like Islam ..he really did...
(How am I doing ???)
Joey Smith wanted to be the 2nd Mohammad and kill everyone who wouldnt convert to mormonism..”Joseph Smith or the Sword”
He did become known as the American Mohammad...
See I’m not totally ignorant...
Look I’ll prove it to you that I am able to learn...
Here ya go, teach..
I Will Be a Second Mohammed
In the heat of the Missouri Mormon War of 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim, I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword. So shall it eventually be with usJoseph Smith or the Sword!
It is most interesting that a self-proclaimed Christian prophet would liken himself to Mohammed, the founder of Islam. His own comparison invites us to take a closer look as well. And when we do, we find some strikingand troublingparallels. Consider the following.
Mohammed and Joseph Smith both had humble beginnings. Neither had formal religious connections or upbringing, and both were relatively uneducated. Both founded new religions by creating their own scriptures. In fact, followers of both prophets claim these scriptures are miracles since their authors were the most simple and uneducated of men.
Both prophets claim of having angel visitations, and of receiving divine revelation to restore pure religion to the earth again. Mohammed was told that both Jews and Christians had long since corrupted their scriptures and religion. In like manner, Joseph Smith was told that all of Christianity had become corrupt, and that consequently the Bible itself was no longer reliable. In both cases, this corruption required a complete restoration of both scripture and religion. Nothing which preceded either prophet could be relied upon any longer.
Both prophets claim they were used of God to restore eternal truths which once existed on earth, but had been lost due to human corruption.
Both prophets created new scripture which borrowed heavily from the Bible, but with a substantially new spin. In his Koran, Mohammed appropriates a number of Biblical themes and charactersbut he changes the complete sense of many passages, claiming to correct the Bible. In so doing he changes many doctrines, introducing his own in their place. In like manner, Joseph Smith created the Book of Mormon, much of which is plagiarized directly from the King James Bible. Interestingly, the Book of Mormon claims that this same Bible has been substantially corrupted and is therefore unreliable. In addition, Joseph Smith went so far as to actually create his own version of the Bible itself, the Inspired Version, in which he both adds and deletes significant portions of text, claiming he is correcting it. In so doing he also changes many doctrines, introducing his own in their place.
As a part of their new scriptural spin, both prophets saw themselves as prophesied in scripture, and both saw themselves as a continuation of a long line of Biblical prophets. Mohammed saw himself as a continuation of the ministry of Moses and Jesus. Joseph Smith saw himself as a successor to Enoch, Melchizedek, Joseph and Moses. Joseph Smith actually wrote himself into his own version of the Bibleby name.
Both prophets held up their own scripture as superior to the Bible. Mohammed claimed that the Koran was a perfect copy of the original which was in heaven. The Koran is therefore held to be absolutely perfect, far superior to the Bible and superceding it. In like manner, Joseph Smith also made the following claim. I told the Brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding its precepts, than by any other book.
Despite their claim that the Bible was corrupt, both prophets admonished their followers to adhere to its teachings. An obvious contradiction, this led to selective acceptance of some portions and wholesale rejection of others. As a result, the Bible is accepted by both groups of followers only to the extent that it agrees with their prophets own superior revelation.
Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith taught that true salvation was to be found only in their respective religions. Those who would not accept their message were considered infidels, pagans or Gentiles. In so doing, both prophets became the enemy of genuine Christianity, and have led many people away from the Christ of the Bible.
Both prophets encountered fierce opposition to their new religions and had to flee from town to town because of threats on their lives. Both retaliated to this opposition by forming their own militias. Both ultimately set up their own towns as model societies.
Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith left unclear instructions about their successors. The majority of Mohammeds followers, Sunni Muslims, believe they were to elect their new leader, whereas the minority, Shiite Muslims, believe Mohammeds son was to be their next leader. Similarly, the majority of Joseph Smiths followers, Mormons, believed their next prophet should have been the existing leader of their quorum of twelve apostles, whereas the minority, RLDS, believed Joseph Smiths own son should have been their next prophet. Differences on this issue, and many others, have created substantial tension between these rival groups of each prophet.
Mohammed taught that Jesus was just another of a long line of human prophets, of which he was the last. He taught that he was superior to Christ and superceded Him. In comparison, Joseph Smith also made the following claim.
I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.
In light of these parallels, perhaps Joseph Smiths claim to be a second Mohammed unwittingly became his most genuine prophecy of all.
Joseph Smith made this statement at the conclusion of a speech in the public square at Far West, Missouri on October 14, 1838. This particular quote is documented in Fawn M. Brodie, No Man Knows My History, second edition, (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1971), p. 230231. Fawn Brodies footnote regarding this speech contains valuable information, and follows. Except where noted, all the details of this chapter are taken from the History of the [Mormon] Church. This speech, however, was not recorded there, and the report given here is based upon the accounts of seven men. See the affidavits of T.B. Marsh, Orson Hyde, George M. Hinkle, John Corrill, W.W. Phelps, Samson Avard, and Reed Peck in Correspondence, Orders, etc., pp. 579, 97129. The Marsh and Hyde account, which was made on October 24, is particularly important. Part of it was reproduced in History of the [Mormon] Church, Vol. III, p. 167. See also the Peck manuscript, p. 80. Joseph himself barely mentioned the speech in his history; see Vol. III, p. 162.

Told your obama supporting arse to stop pinging me.
Romney had a POLYGAMOUS grandfather and great grandfather.
Hussein went to Koran memorization & recitation (brainwashing) classes in Indonesia.
Mitt went to MORMON memorization & recitation (brainwashing) classes in AMERICA.
Barak lived in Muslim Indonesia for four of his most formative years...age 6 to age 10...when children get imprinted with life long beliefs.
Willard lived in AMERICA for ALL of his most formative years - when children get imprinted with life long beliefs.
Where would you or I rather live in? A Muslim dominated neighborhood or a Mormon dominated neighborhood?
Where would you or I rather live in? A Muslim dominated neighborhood or a Mormon dominated neighborhood?
Yep...whole lotta zombies more than happy to do Joseph Smith's dirty work. It's a crying shame.
BIG>We are NOT zombies!!
I prefer a Christian neighborhood.
I guess you are not aware of the ties between mormonism and islam, are you?

Mormons, Muslims break the fast in Southern California
"At the iftars, both Muslim and LDS leaders spoke at a brief service, after which the Muslims participated in evening prayers. Following the evening prayer, the groups met together for a meal, provided by the Muslims. There were members of other faiths at each of the dinners also, along with city officials.
In keeping with Muslim tradition, the call to prayer occurred at the time that the sun set that evening. Participants then broke their fasts with dates, bread or other simple items, before proceeding to evening prayer.
The LDS visitors were invited to observe the prayers. LDS women who attended wore head scarves, consistent with Muslim dress standards for women. After the evening prayer, the groups shared a large meal together. The dinners featured traditional Muslim foods such as lamb, couscous, rice and dates. About two dozen LDS members from each of the four stakes attended the events."
Who were you posting to ???
What is the Pentacostal take on MORMONism?
You appear to be quite intelligent and knowledgeable about all tbhings!
Ah... but my heart AIN'T troubled!
If I were an SLC type of MORMON; then, by GOD! my heart surely WOULD be; after learning of what the Great Prophet, Brigham Young has stated:
"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned;
and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given,
and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.

Just wave the Imperial Hand and go on.
SURELY you know that ANYONE who dares to put THEIR vaunted opinion in plain sight for all to see; can expect to get some feedback; right?
If you are tired of playing; watch some youtube stuff or something...
Tired of being badgered??
Them undies ain’t helping much!
Convert to MORMONism
Follow the rules.
Wear the garment at ALL times.
It will wick the body sweat away and you’ll be MUCH cooler!
didja see who was 1/3 the way there???
It is like most tradional Christian denominations, but why is that question important? It is no different than asking what Jehovah’s Witnesses’ views of, say, Methodists are. My point is that almost any serious sect, denomination, or whatever your term at some level thinks all the rest are heretics. If you don’t think that, then you probably belong to Rick Warren’s church where nobody is “wrong.” so why wouldn’t ‘Mormonism’ have the same view of others that others have of them?
#1...I didn't put Obama in the WH; and I wish he was gone as well.
Beyond that obvious caveat, there's QUITE a difference 'tween having an Lds relative (like I do) or neighbor vs. putting somebody who thinks he's "divine" as THE leader of the Free world. (The latter needs a wee bit more discernment)
Besides, if YOU, Dennis, was auditioning for godhood like the average temple Mormon, you'd be on your best behavior, too!
Some day Markus -- or his kids or grandkids -- will want the Dem out "at ALL costs." And I mean ALL,/u> costs!
Come that day, Markus or his ensuing generations will vote for somebody well to the left of Obama...Why? (Because the Dem candidate will always seem worse and Markus and his lot always passed the buck and refused to bite the bullet, refusing to ever draw any serious lines in the sand)
And so they always capitulated...always compromised...and trained their kids and grandkids to always be the same ethically...to be relativists politically and morally.
That's the eternal fruits of relativism. It winds up mortgaging the next generations.
It's the attitude that these FR would vote for whoever they thought might be the "best' 'tween THE anti-Christ & a reincarnated Hitler.
You seem to know neither early church history or denominational distinctives.
What is consistent with both -- comparing the early church fathers with denominational leaders today -- is that just about all of them made key distinctions 'tween someone who was an errorist and somebody who was a heretic.
Tertullian was a Montanist (kind of like the charismatics of his day), yet was well-respected by other Christian leaders during his time and afterwards. Somebody might regard Montanism as having an errorist strain; but they would not usually treat that sect the way they did heretics and heresies.
Your use of the word "wrong" is similar to considering other denominations "wrong" on some key doctrine or two. Yet even the most traditional of Protestant denominations (Lutheranism, Presbyterianism, etc.) regard other Christian denominations as brothers in Christ...not heretics.
They do make distinctions 'tween a Methodist, who they would regard as "Christian" denomination -- and a JW -- which has embraced the ancient heresy of Arianism.
So, no. Your statement that the opinion is that "all the rest are heretics" is an ignorant asenine conclusion that attempts to place words in the mouth of countless Christian denominations and their leaders!
You wouldn't want that done for you, would you?
Oh my, dear brother in Christ. Please do forgive me: Although I carry no brief for Romney, and am not campaigning for him, I think in all fairness that these remarks are so hyperbolic that they constitute a caricature of the man.
Just my two-cents' worth....
I miss both Sandy and Resty. I keep praying for them.
Are you an athiest or an agnostic?
If he had stuck to fiction, he might not have been killed in a gunbattle.
Not all Mormons oppose it (I know many who see it as a gateway to polygamy) and the LDS church has been fighting for ‘gay rights’ in Salt Lake City.
They are both ‘bowing down’ to the same policies.
The rants of Brigham Young are pitiful. They are the resulf of an ill-educated character who failed to understand the true message of the Bible. The hate and vile in his message speak of a troubled man captive in his own narcissism.
You will find faults with many of the world’s cults and, those of us who are Christian, have a big job to set our fellow man on the right path. We should not condemn, like Brigham Young, but love everyone; even when they fail to know the good word of Christ. It is those who know the truth that have a responsibility to tell the truth in a way that will lift up our fellow man; not put him down. We should show the light of our lives, warn those who do not know what they are doing that there is danger, and tell all that there is a better way. The good news is Christ’s love which all people can enjoy—even Willard Romney who is being deceived by a cult religion!
If those tithes don’t arrive, the wrath of the Guru will be visited upon them!
GIMMIE MY CHECK ! ! !
I do lambast other cults (even athiesim). However, Romney belongs to this particular cult which happens to be the cult I was saved out of almost 20 years ago and the group I am called to minister to.
I guess my problem is that I personally do not care what someones believes in the realm of religion. Im not a big enough egomaniac to care.
- - - - - -
Then I take it you are not a Christian? For Christians it isn’t egomania, it is concern for souls. It stems from a desire to share your faith and warn others that their souls are in danger of a very real hell. That isn’t egomania, that is Christian witness.
He said that because he loved me. I am FAR from a ‘girly girl’ and was on the kickboxing team in College when we had this conversation. I could have kicked is ass, but I was more hurt than angry at losing my long time best friend. However, in the end, we not only regained our friendship, he helped lead me to the Lord and we fell in love.
I've made one of those!
OK, Jesus commended in one or two places the actions of the Pharisees, while roundly & soundly condemning them inwardly -- to the point He called them "whitewashed sepulcres" -- filthily and wormily dead on the inside.
You wouldn't be implying that Jesus was somehow unloving, would you be?
Isn't one form of love -- for say a parent of spouse of an addicted love one -- tough love? (Vs. enabling them in their addiction by "loving" them (your version) -- vs. not telling them the truth?
Doesn't one of the greater chapters of love in the New Testament speak of how "love rejoices in the truth"? (1 Cor. 13:6)
Is not then one form of love -- telling people the truth...not wanting them to wind up in hell? Or do you attempt to be somehow "neutral" toward hell as a destination?
It is those who know the truth that have a responsibility to tell the truth in a way that will lift up our fellow man; not put him down.
So when Jesus referenced the Pharisees as "children of the devil," you condemn Him? Are you consistent here? Or when the apostle Paul referenced the false wolves who would come into devour the sheep (Acts 20:28-31), you condemn this apostle for using a derogatory animalistic application?
I could on & on from the Scriptures.
The problem is you have had an epic fail here.
Jesus and our Lord's prophets and apostles tended to comfort the afflicted; and afflict the comfortable.
You my friend, have failed miserably to practice discernment on who needs both LAW and Gospel and who needs to more immediately hear about the grace, compassion, mercy and love of God. Yes, we all need that...but as Jesus said, he didn't come to attend as a physician those who don't think they need a doctor...
Where you have flunked here is that we have a large body of religious people who think that membership in a given man-made organization is what qualifies them for heaven or some degree of heaven...that, coupled with meritorious good deeds that will earn a spot for them...Jesus was quite harsh for this reason upon religious hypocrites...
They don't realize they have a cancerous sin of self-pride -- a pride that encourages them to think they can build their own stairway to heaven.
Just as a man who won't concede he has cancer won't seek a cure, a person who won't concede their darkness, their slavery to sin nature, etc. won't seek Our Lord in an eternal relationship as Savior...
Posters like you love to quote John 3:16, but somehow never get around to citing what Jesus said two verses later:
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of Gods one and only Son.
Is this then an unloving assessment by Jesus?
We should show the light of our lives, warn those who do not know what they are doing that there is danger, and tell all that there is a better way.
OK...you finally got around to trying to offer a bit of counterbalance...that, yes, people need warnings about a danger.
If you back up to my Acts 20:28-31 reference, how often did Paul warn the Ephesian church about these false wolves. Now & then? Once in a while? Occasionally?
Would you believe DAILY for three years...Night and day???
The problem is you present this caveat of issuing "warnings" almost as a minor afterthought; for the APOSTLE Paul, this was something he did -- if we take him literally -- over 2,000 times in three years' time...and all as he also made it a goal to proclaim the "whole counsel" of God...says Acts 20.
So, it's not like he was only conducting seminars on the cults & heretics.
And that is why I just LOVE to post MORMON teachings and writings; showing how their OWN leaders CONDEMN them!
It would NOT be very loving to keep them in the dark about the less PUBLISIZED things of MORMONism; would it?
The TRUTH shall set them free indeed!
JS did pretty good on his own.
But of course, MORMON apologists will blame GOD for this message:
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTSSECTION 1325157, Emma Smith is counseled (commanded) to be faithful and true; 5866, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.51 Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to aprove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice.52 And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, areceive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God.53 For I am the Lord thy God, and ye shall obey my voice; and I give unto my servant Joseph that he shall be made ruler over many things; for he hath been afaithful over a few things, and from henceforth I will strengthen him.55 But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.
Whatever HAPPENED to Emma???Eliza was a devout Mormon. At age 38, she became Joseph Smith's 14th plural wife (in addition to Smith's lawful wife, Emma). In 1842, after learning Eliza was pregnant, Emma Smith beat Eliza with a broomstick andknocked her down a flight of stairs, causing Eliza to miscarry Smith's baby.Wow!!I guess ol' Emma got VAPORIZED by GOD!!!We know that multiply him thing sure didn't work out!
There you were, browsing thru FR one day, reading this and that, minding your own business; when suddenly you came across this thread and decided to educate us all with some new information.
