Meet the First Obama Girlfriend

It only took nearly six years for the media to begin vetting President Obama’s past.

Today, Vanity Fair released an excerpt from a new biography of Barack Obama by David Maraniss. The excerpt discusses Barack Obama's first love affair, with a white Australian woman named Genevieve Cook. It's a telling examination of who Obama was as a young man -- and it shows a self-absorbed "internationalist" with delusions of grandeur.

The book itself sounds like an ode to Obama. Maraniss writes, “At age 20, Obama was a man of the world … He could not be of one place, rooted and provincial.” No, says Maraniss, this was a broadminded young man who “knew the ways of different cultures better than he knew himself.”

When he first moved to New York, he was in the midst of an affair with Alexandra McNear, a girl from Occidental. They exchanged a series of purple letters with one another – turgid missives from overfevered young minds. Here, for example, is tendentious Obama explaining poetry to his young girlfriend:

I haven’t read “The Waste Land” for a year, and I never did bother to check all the footnotes. But I will hazard these statements—Eliot contains the same ecstatic vision which runs from Münzer to Yeats. However, he retains a grounding in the social reality/order of his time. Facing what he perceives as a choice between ecstatic chaos and lifeless mechanistic order, he accedes to maintaining a separation of asexual purity and brutal sexual reality. And he wears a stoical face before this. Read his essay on Tradition and the Individual Talent, as well as Four Quartets,

He’s got good taste.

Speaking of which, he’s still annoyed that Hilly didn’t offer him any of her Fritos.

She’s a rude bitch.

[his word..which he can say, you know, being a dog and all]

THIS JUST IN:

Could this be Genevieve Cook, the diplomat’s daughter Obama supposedly met at a party. Her father, was a former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam. Genevieve married a guy from Egypt, go figure!

A poor student might wear the same leather jacket for years... or you could have caught him in a lie. Both are very believable!

If someone wore the same leather jacket for years, it would show obvious signs of wear after a while. Does the jacket show signs of wear an any of these photos, I will have to look.

LOL! Just had a funny thought...it's definitely the same jacket but goodness knows who's wearing it, see PhilDragoo on #193 in which it's obvious his head really IS far too big for the body...so who was she standing there with - someone else who OWNED THE JACKET and it was the owner of the jacket who was photographed in Central Park and ( wait for it) superimposed into the group in Kenya and he WASN'T IN KENYA AT ALL?

Phil, you've done it again. And that Hal Siddiqi has dainty little feet...is that what you are trying to show us?

Absolutely agreed. Might be the stuff Bill Ayers would write in his name, trying to sound like a promising, well-read, but self-important and ahead of himself young man, but not at all the way Obama has ever been caught using the language in either his poor academic writing at Columbia or Harvard or since.

Those embarrassing quotes aren’t even his.

Plenty of purely gay, not bisexual, men have married women and fathered a couple of children.

Not only is the head too large, it’s at a weird, unnatural angle and just a bit off center.

“and in his own mind, an outsider to America.”

Anyone who read Dreams from My Father knew Obama was an outsider to America, it wasn’t just in his own mind, he proves it regularly. I pointed out to people that he was very much not of America before the election and of course was poo-pooed by Leftists. They can’t handle the truth.
