Parties wane and parties grow, if they can break through the cabal of the media. 18% is a number that cannot be denied a microphone. The Romney/Obama tandem, — and tandem it is — effectively denies us that microphone.
Further, if already with the microphone conservatism cannot garner beyond 18% then there is no point prolonging the agony: while America still has some fiber left, America should see what unconservative policies would bring. We are practical people. Maybe we need a practical lesson.

I believe that you are right, ohioWfan. I have wondered if Obama is God’s warning to us of what we are in danger of losing. That unchecked evil can so easily destroy what your son and mine, and millions of others, have fought and died for. Right after George W. Bush was declared the winner in Florida, my much younger hairdresser said to me “I see the hand of God in this election”. She was so rigt. Only He knows what would have happened if Al Gore had been our President on 9/11.
A re-elected Obama will use countless Executive Orders and probably hundreds of Czars accountable to no one but him, Czar in chief, to run around and over Congress. The EPA will issue rule after rule to bring down our coal, oil and gas industries. We have already seen the beginnings of this. This man without a past, who was never vetted by anyone and is praised and adored by the media even as he spends trillions of dollars bankrupting the future, must be defeated. we must humbly gather together and pray that God will open the eyes and hearts of people, that they may see and work to defeat the evil around us.
You might want to read up on what the Ruling Class Machine for Romney did at many caucuses this primary; Cook County machine thuggery. Our vote was severely diminished in many ways including outright machine strongarming, silencing protest of unannounced rules changes to hand Romney unearned delegates. Along with that we had the Obama media pushing for Romney as the frontrunner and only 'viable' candidate from the moment he announced. Add Rove, and the sphere of "conservative" columnists and pundits pushing Romney and attacking every single Conservative in the field from Palin to Gingrich in conjunction with the Obama media, Conservative voices were deliberately drowned out.
Then given I recognize machine politics from my days as a precinct Captain in NW Suburban Chicago, we will never know the amount of fraud that this entire election cycle is rife with.
How about money somebody gave millions to Mitt! If they thought Mitt wouldn’t win they would not have backed him.
How about the millions to McCain? He didn't win. How about the millions to Gingrich? He just hung it up. Money does not always necessarily pick winners, although it does help keep a campaign going.
Sometimes money is put up for a fighter to win his bouts, but in the final contest, he is told to take a K.O. for the bigger interests.

I received an insult from Earthdweller above (who lacked the courage to insult me directly, and I'm sure will not have the guts to respond to this either).
The accusation was that I am part of the GOP Establishment issuing vain threats about how dangerous Obama was.
What he, in his abject ignorance, actually doesn't understand is that the GOP-e is the group on the right side of the aisle, who doesn't understand the threat of Communism and the thugocracy we are now enduring, which will get worse with another four years, while legitimate Conservatives do. The Establishment Republicans just think it's about political control, and not the very survival of this country. They don't take Obama seriously, and agree with Earthdweller that warning about Obama is ridiculous.
Any time you listen to the Establishment Republicans you hear the same "Obama is no big deal" that you hear from the very vocal minority here.
The Establishment Republicans, the Marxists and the minority nutcase pseudo-cons on this forum are all in lockstep that Obama is no big deal and that bringing up the danger he poses is political posturing.

You claimed not many Representatives were supporting Romney, when in fact a significant number, about 43% and growing, were in fact supporting him. Falsehood number 1.
Then you claimed he would be lucky to get 40% of the vote, which history clearly indicates that barring a significant 3rd party candidate, he would get significantly more votes than you said. I believe you even know this is a not only a significant distortion but a major one. I offered to make you a bet on that one.
So you have been caught in two significant distortions, of course one might also consider them lies.

We live in an area of townhomes with with many former Soviet Union owners; people who lived in rentals, worked very hard, saved their money and are now homeowners. In fact almost every home that has come on the market in the past few years has been purchased by this particular group. It is a very desirable neighborhood especially for young families. Each home is meticulously cared for; these people are fierce in their allegiance to the United States and refer to themselves as “we Americans”. I feel a special tie to them since two of my grandparents came from Ukraine.
Every single one of them is bewildered by the turn America has taken. They all say they lived thru the horrors of Communism and Socialism—it is why they risked everything and came here with such hope for the future—freedom and the ability to achieve a successful life on their own. We are amazed by their children who are high achievers in school, respectful and responsible and friendly.
One came to our door the other day for a second time—a high school assignment. He was asking for our opinions on the Vietnam war; we were amazed this is actually being taught in our local high school. We would like to meet his teacher. His earlier assignment had been our reactions to 9/11; the emotions we felt, etc. His parents are from Azerbaijan(?(—his mother has a master degree in English)—they are so incredibly thankful that they were able to come to America. When we heard that “go home” words had been sprayed on their windshield, my husband advised them to notify the police. They were amazed that when the police came that they were actually concerned about the incident—other neighborhoods had reported similar vandalism. Where they came from people were afraid of the police. They are holding on tightly to the American dream. I’m sure they are praying very hard that the dream does not become a nightmare.
All these parents cannot understand why Americans would stand for the policies toward socialism of Obama when they have failed everywhere else. And don’t they understand that they are in great danger of losing their rights and their liberty, that day by day the Govenment is controlling more and more, issuing orders of what is not permitted? A couple not allowed to build on property they bought because it is in wetlands, with water nowhere in sight. A young child being told the lunch her mother lovingly packed for her is bad and must be replaced by what the Government deems proper. The majority wishes being overturned by one disgruntled citizen who doesn’t like what is being done or said.
Wake up America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, before you are only a memory.
