Fox News anchor on Newt Gingrich: ‘Now I’m sure’ he’s delusional
AJC ^ | 5-2-12 | Galloway

Fox News anchor Shep Smith, with the help of GOP veteran Ed Rollins, gave a brutal review of Newt Gingrich’s exit from the Republican presidential race – sure to exacerbate the feud between Gingrich and the conservative cable news network.

Says Rollins: “He epitomhttpized the sore loser. This is a tough game, but he epitomized the sore loser.”

Said Smith, harkening back to the beginning of Gingrich’s campaign: “I thought then he was delusional, and now I’m sure.”

For what it’s worth Jay Severin who worked on pat Buchanan’s campaign said the same thing.

I disagree with some of your analysis, but think the truth is in there.

We had a weak field and conservative opposition to Romney never unified behind a single candidate, neither among the voters or the candidates.

This was predictable early - Thomas Sowell did among others.

Romney could have been beat, but nothing changed, no new candidates, no unifying behind a single notRomney opposition.

Gingrich had no interest whatsoever in Santorum. I think Santorum was actually aiming to be Romney’s VP all along, and I think that’s what will happen.

They share exactly the same big-government, nanny-state “compassionate conservative” positions, combined with a lot of GOP insider background (don’t forget, Santorum was one of those who shot down Gingrich in revenge for the success of the Contract with America, which made the GOP look dangerous in the eyes of Dems).

There has been some talk that Romney might go for Rob Portman or some other Midwestern RINO from a big union state, but I think that he will probably pick Santorum because he wants to get the social conservatives, and “St Rick” has calculated this since Day One.

But, once again, I hope that something will happen between now and the primary that will prevent Romney from getting it, although I think the possibility is pretty slim unless a meteor from the planet Kolob strikes him.

BTW, two other points.

1. Karl Rove wishes he was Ed Rollins. Rollins is the real architect. Rove barely managed to squeak out a win over two of the most incompetent Rats that ever ran for the Presidency.

2. Gingrich’s speech was awesome.

Shemp Smith is not one of the original Three Stooges..
meaning O’Really, Hannity and Van Susteran...

His mouth speaks but usually always says nothing..
He is not the brightest candle in the Shrine..

My faith provides the only guarantee that I trust. I am not a Romney Republican.

Yeah me too. Been ages. Ever since they caved into the epicene Bobsey twins of Shep and Anderson. When it comes to sore losers though it's a tight race between FR and Fox. "tighter than the lugnuts on a '56 Ford Fairlane".

Yes, I heard that ugly, gay anchor disparage Newt’s speech and insult the the Speaker—but he was quiet on the topic an hour later. Does anyone believe Shep knows anything about conservatism to even have a genuine opinion on Newt’s remarks? Please.

I can’t stand Smith. I watched his show once and never watched it again. There’s something about a guy who wears so much mascara that’s a real turn off.

His opinions are irrelevant.

I have never cared for Shep.

He isn’t nearly as witty or funny as he thinks he is. And you really noticed it when he came on before/after Cavuto, who is both.

So, no, no guarantee. Yet you’re cheerleading for Obama’s victory to make things all better for the GOP.

That worked so well last time.

We learned a couple of things for sure.

One, we are cynics for a very good reason—that all is as exactly as it appears. Business. As. Usual. (Pols and happy pundits included.)

Two, that “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it”, is the mantra of the GOPE who successfully collect useful idiots they just scammed....for the umpteenth time.

You have been a keeper. :)

You seem to imply my not supporting Romney is tantamount to my supporting Obama. I’ll just repeat what I posted earlier:

I have been told that my not voting for Romney is tantamount to a vote for Obama. I’m sure there are people on the other side of the spectrum who will tell me that my not voting for Obama is tantamount to a vote for Romney.

If there is any logic to those arguments, then my not voting for either Obama or Romney is tantamount to one vote for each of them, giving me two votes for President. If I am offered a legal way to vote twice, why shouldn’t I take advantage of that offer?

I’ll use my two votes to vote for neither Obama nor Romney this November.

And, I’ll leave the rest to God.

Don’t be afraid. Things are never as good or as grim as they might seem at the time.

And, trust God.

Mebbe.

And that’s the ONLY way I’d vote for Mittens.

Alright...I’d vote if Sarah were VP.

Please, I'm just a skeered an old man.

And, trust God.

I do, it's some humans I worry about.

And, I’ll leave the rest to God.

With that excuse, a person can do any idiotic thing they darn well please and claim it's God's fault.

If there is any logic to those arguments, then my not voting for either Obama or Romney is tantamount to one vote for each of them, giving me two votes for President.

You show an amazing ability to confuse yourself.

And no, I'm not 'implying.' Here, listen to Brietbart for some clarity.
