...when the expected crowds return to South Beach this month Memorial Day will be observed Monday, May 28 they will find that wounds inflicted by years of raucous, days-long street bacchanals were ripped open last year when 11 officers unleashed a barrage of bullets on Collins Avenue during their chase of a driver they said was armed.
The driver died. Four bystanders were hit by bullets.
This year, the heavy police presence, which some argue contributed to the tension, will intensify significantly. A checkpoint. Watch towers. Police in pairs on every corner. Drivers on all three causeways leading into South Beach the MacArthur, Venetian and Julia Tuttle will be affected, with police surveillance on the MacArthur and Tuttle.

What has REALLY happened has been noise, arrests, fighting, and everything you might associate with thuggery.
Oh yeah, and some people played "hip hop" or "rap" or whatever they call it now....
Stay away.
I pray for heavy rains and bad weather to keep the crowds to a minimum.
If I were a business in Miami Beach, I'd shutter the place for five days, and go to the Keys or up to St. Augustine....
And by the way, just like most of Florida, God help the cop who stops a thug from committing a crime...that is a sure sign for the media to blast the officer with charges of prejudice and racism if the thug happens to be black.
This is Miami's way of saying, "You're not welcome - Stay Away"....
Don’t forget to ask God to help protect the bystanders when the cops open fire on an unarmed driver.
Reason 1534 the US is going to implode.
One of the comments I saw was from a woman who said she remembered when a Jersey shore towns population swelled to 2 million from 15000, with very little problems.
The rap culture and those who support are directly responsible for the anti-social behavior.
What could possibly go wrong?
Been there, done that:

“The rap culture and those who support are directly responsible for the anti-social behavior.”
It “is” antisocial behavior. At least it became that.
Early hip hop/rap was basically fun rhyming stuff by guys with a clever tongue and turn of phrase. It was simple music needing little to create and anyone could do it...no major production studio/budget needed. A basic drum beat and a bassline you could groove to were all you needed to have a backing track and the rest was all whatever you could entertain people with lyrically.
Then NWA took the more base aspects of it and made being a criminal cool. Blame also goes to Public Enemy and Chuck D for setting Black Panther crap and ‘Black Liberation Theology to music.
Compare a Will Smith Fresh Prince record to “Straight outta Compton. There’s no relation. But the media glamorized ‘thug life’ and so the music followed. Now the music drives the culture. Because there’s money to be made doing it.
Now the money doesn’t even matter as much as the propognda/political value. And the results are all too obvious.
Not just Miami. Black Bike Week in Myrtle Beach is from 5/25 to 5/29.
Black bike week in Daytona is a complete zoo.
Hotels trashed, furniture thrown off balconies or in to lobies.
Shootings, stabbings, etc.
Many business DO close and then are blasted as racist by black leaders. Thosethat remain open have big theft problems.
Other than the racetrack, Daytona is a dog.
Who scoops the poop out of the pools?
The Gulf of Mexico is self-cleaning, in its own way.
The official population of NJ is under 9 million. Since when are 2 million of them in one shore town?
Thugs.
Just what she said, I think she meant for tourists for the beach years ago.
You know, a kindler, gentler, more civilized time.
And lets not forget this one.

Locally, in St. Louis, they have the annual Annie Malone parade. One day event of pimped out cars and wild gyrations in the street.
Much of the police department has to work the event because of the shootings.

Its too expensive to drive, its too dangerous in many places, I would rather send a message by just sitting the holiday out.
“What could possibly go wrong?”
The videocam would go down?
Seriously, this should be on Pay Per View.
