Leading U.S. Muslim jurist: Female genital mutilation an "honor" in Islam
Jihad Watch ^ | 5/3/12 | Robert

Posted on 05/03/2012 12:55:27 PM PDT by Nachum

How is it that Dr. Hatem al-Haj, a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics and a leading Muslim jurist, misunderstands Islamic law so severely as to think that this purely cultural practice has something to do with Islam? Surely it can't be that the mainstream media and Islamic leaders in the U.S. have been lying to us, and FGM really is justified in Islam, could it? Naaah.

"AMJA Senior Committee Member: Female Genital Mutilation Is 'an Honor' per Islam," from Translating Jihad, April 27 (thanks to all who sent this in):

A couple of weeks ago I posted a translation of a paper by Association of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) senior committee member Dr. Hatem al-Haj, PhD, MD, in which he warned American Muslims against working in law enforcement in our 'infidel' nation (see here for more details). Now in my latest translation, Dr. al-Haj explains why female circumcision is recommended and even 'an honor' for women....

Below is my excerpted translation of the 41-page Arabic-language paper by Dr. Hatem al-Haj entitled "Circumcision of Girls: Jurisprudence and Medicine" (see the original here and here):

The ruling on circumcision: Scholars have differed on the ruling on circumcision. They have agreed on its legitimacy for both sexes, but beyond that they have differed. Some--most famously the Shafi’ites--believe that it is obligatory for both sexes. Some believe it is obligatory for men only, and some believe it is recommended for both. At the very least it can be said that for women it is an honor, and for men it is sunnah [i.e. it is in accord with the tradition of Muhammad].

As much as I hate creating new laws, I think we need a new one:

Any child who has been mutilated in this manner shall have all male relatives surgically removed from the future gene pool via “extremely invasive sterilization” aka. Man Cancer Precautionary Prevention via complete genital parts removal.

[ Blah, blah, blah. At least attempt to make sense.
He made sense Deb, you apparently didn’t like it. You do no that the Saudi Family was whisked out of the country after 911 by GW, wonder why he felt that was needed? Could it be that most of the attackers were Saudis? How is it that GHWB was close friends of the House of Saud, when they use our money to spread Whabbism around the world?

Do you remember how hard GW fought to open the Borders and pass “Comprehensive” immigration reform? Do you remember how hard he fought to open up our borders to Mexican trucks? Do you remember the fence he said he would build if only we would vote for him again, then had Kay Bailey defund it immediately after the election? And let us not forget this one, I have to destroy Capitalism in order to save it, we must have TARP.

And he was one of the good guys, unfortunately New World Order is in his genes. ]

Post 9/11 the following should have happened:

1. A few weeks after there should have been intensive investigations as to who failed in the FBI and CIA and there should have been multiple firings and pension-ectomies of the peope who ignored the cries of their subordinates who were warning about the hijackers. The people who were warning about it should have been promoted and even replaced their dumbasses bosses who were fired.

2. We should have declared WAR capital W on Saudia Arabia for funding sharia and wahabism over the globe that led to this.

3. We should have called pooty poot and told him there are two missles that will be launched and not tow orry because they are going to pass over the soviet union.

4. We should have taken over a good 1/2 of the Saudi Oil fields as War reparations for the attacks against our civillians on 9/11.

5. THEN go after Bin Laden.

Vast majority of muslims are AGAINST FGM. The ones who practice it are mostly African and it is more a cultural than religious thing.

IIRC, over 90% of Egyptian females subjected to FGM -- but then, Egypt is in Africa. (And Islam is the dominant religion by far.)

It may be a cultural thing, but Islam swept away a lot of cultural things wherever it took hold; why not this thing?

That's a rhetorical question.

“Actually the Saudi royal family has connections to many medical institutes in the US.”

Being Muslim means having the accumulated genetic deficits consequential to 1,400 years of incest.

“Most of those places have kept quiet about it since 9/11.”

Saudi oil wealth has infiltrated and degraded much of America’s infrastructure.

“Vast majority of muslims are AGAINST FGM. The ones who practice it are mostly African and it is more a cultural than religious thing.”

Do consider a quick Google search before posting such egregious Muslim talking points.

In Egypt, somewhere between 80 and 90 percent of the Muslim women have been held down and mutilated.

PS A Muslim calling anyone a ‘savage” is the worst case of pot badmouthing kettle one can imagine.

“You believe that Bush believed, that “seven or eight (muslims) who don’t stand with them” makes Islam a religion of peace? That’s funny. However, I don’t doubt that Bush actually believed that.”

Bush and the Saudi relationship was detailed in “House of Bush, House of Saud”.

Core fact - Bush family and the Carlilse Group invested 1.476 BILLION BUCKS of Saudi money.

Now you know why Bush was holding hands with that Sand Savage.

I like the way you think, but we are in a distinct minority.

You're a liar. No one is that stupid.

Richard Clarke arranged for members of the Royal family to return to SA post 9/11 WHEN PLANES WERE ALLOWED TO RETURN TO SERVICE. He testified about it at the 9/11 hearings.

Bush had nothing to do with it. Richard Clarke hates Bush because he wasn't promoted. So he quit, wrote a book, testified for the DEMOCRATS and works for MSNBC.

The rest of your stupid post is too ignorant to bother with. Especially amusing is your infantile understanding of TARP.

Read a book. It won't help, but you'll see lots a pretty pictures.

And beware the Build-A-Burgers!!!

And the NEW WORLD ORDER!!!! (whatever the f that is)

Especially amusing is your infantile understanding of TARP.

TARP is basically a slush fund for Zero. Go read another book, you know one that may actually not be an alibi for the failure of the second greatest spender, to ever occupy the white house.

The open borders Bush family, the one that every female in the dynasty is pro abortion, the old one that wanted Sarah to just go back to Alaska and shut up? That family?

GW and his big tent now called a rainbow coalition gave us Zero, I have no love for them. Maybe if he would promise to build a fence, I could warm up to him a little.

You are confusing TARP (the Toxic Asset Relief Program) with Obamas "stimulus plan".

TARP stopped the major American banks and, more importantly, AIG from going under, which would have plunged the WORLD'S economies into a depression and made George Soros' every dream come true. This has been paid back with $16 billion profit. Obama's "stimulus plan" was and is Obama's campaign slush fund.

Two different things. Commonly confused.

Thanks. Curious, how can you tell which side of the bucked the cup of water comes from?

Hey Deb. The Religion of Peace GITMO gang are laughing their asses off at you bushbots. Deal with it. Bush failed to define our enemies and you can’t/won’t accept his failure. He also failed miserably with regards to illegal immigration while at the same time inflicting harm against our civil liberties with the Patriot Act and forming DHS and TSA. Your boy Bush is a statist piece of work, whose whole family is cheerleading for Romney- not a conservative. Deal with that, honey.
