Which Republicans will get to speak at the convention? (Sarah might be denied to speak?)

Several insiders interviewed for this story said former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will present a unique challenge to Romney’s team: Will they give her a prime spot to satisfy her fans, or reduce her role because of her polarizing nature?

“You want people to generate interest and passion,” said one Republican who has organized conventions before and who, like others, didn’t want to be named. “Sarah Palin goes to a very small segment, relatively speaking, of the Republican Party. And you’re trying to put together a rainbow coalition.” (Democrats faced a similar situation in 1992, when then-Gov. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania was denied a speaking role, he believed, because he opposes abortion rights.)

...even if Sarah Palin comes out and says that she will “Support” Romney, she will NEVER endorse him or campaign for him.

And you know this ... how?

I wish for Palin and Gingrich and Rush and Levin and every other sensible conservative to say To Hell with Romney, this is asking too much. The GOP has gone so far statist that it's gotten to the point that it's counterproductive -- and now they're asking me to support making the de-facto head of the GOP an arrogant, ruthless statist liberal registered as a Republican who is for all the things I'm against.

Another once-sneaking suspicion becoming clear: Romney will use his position to put conservative Republicans "where they belong" -- with the losers. He's fundamentally a liberal and will behave like one.

I fully expect Palin to play the game, though. Just when we need "rogue" the most.

Willard thinks we’ll hold our noses and vote for his sorry rino behind. God he makes me sick.

Before the 08 primary, I went to his rally here. He didn’t even look me in the eye when he shook my hand. I’m hard to miss at 5’18”. Even a ms of eye-contact would have been nice.

Sarah sure does want to have a voice, yet doesn’t seem to want to do any of the work

I know what you mean. I’ve watched every Republican convention since 1976. Always looked forward to them! I even still have some old VCR tapes I recorded going back to the 1984 convention. But this time, the whole prospect of seeing Romney and the whole “establishment GOP” political hack-society (who trashed Palin, who trashed the Tea Party, and who trash conservatives) up there at the podium, frankly just makes me want to vomit.

It’ll take a road grader to make room for Megan McCain.

Left to me, I'd rather she NOT speak at this charade, but let them go ahead and snub her and watch the enthusiasm gap.

They don't want to win this. That is why they ran Willard Thomas Dewey, a "Me-Too!" Republican!

I remain praying for Divine Intervention.

Nothing is set in cement.

Romney is not the certified nominee.

A lot can happen in the coming months before this convention.

Keep praying. He’s not the nominee yet.
Nothing is certified. It’s not yet his convention.

I remain mightily praying for Divine Intervention. I have faith that our good Lord will help us save our Republic.

“Sarah Palin goes to a very small segment, relatively speaking, of the Republican Party. And you’re trying to put together a rainbow coalition.”

Really...... Hm.

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party”–when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.

Every speech I've ever listened to from Romney are saccharine-sweet with shallow platitudes -- stupid, obvious, empty platitudes. I'm not surprised that he failed to make eye contact.

No he is not.

I don't seriously believe anymore that we will be saved by the GOP, they are corrupt and Impotent, and Willard is the poster boy for that Movement. It maybe time we moved on.

Us and our Sarah included.

Well, it stands to reason that they won’t let her speak since Romney’s minions and the GOP-E have been stabbing her (and by extension us) in the back ever since August 29, 2008.
