A Grade 12 student in Nova Scotia has been suspended for wearing a T-shirt publicizing his religious beliefs.

The South Shore Regional School Board suspended William Swinimer from Forest Heights Community School in Chester Basin for five days for wearing a shirt emblazoned with the words, “Life is wasted without Jesus.”

School board Superintendent Nancy Pynch-Worthylake said the wording on the shirt is problematic because it is directed at the beliefs of others.

School board Superintendent Nancy Pynch-Worthylake

There’s the first problem. Women with two last names shouldn’t be in authority positions.

all religion is problematic because it is directed at the beliefs of others

all educators are problematic because they attempt to shape the beliefs of others

Of course the, “Pagan and Proud”, the, “I Find Peace in Islam”, the, “Liberal and Proud”, “Black Power”, “Chicano Power”, and the, “Keep Left”, t-shirts will be permitted....goes without saying.

Based on that if this young person would walk up to another student and say “I am a Christian” would that not be problematic as that would be directed at the beliefs of others????
They just did not want himwearing the shirt could not figure out how to stop it and came up with this lame reasoning..........

Saw one the other day with a picture of the Ten Commandments tablets. The shirt said “Guns and Moses.”

I saw that one in Israel when I visited in 1996. The actual saying on the shirt in this event in Nova Scotia is Life is Wasted then in subscript without Jesus Philippians 3:8

Poor kid was wearing the wrong T-shirt. Had his shirt praised Allah, Che Guvera, Obama, North Korea, Bill Ayers, etc., he would have been OK in the eyes of the board. But, c’mon, Jesus, NO WAY. This country is sure going to hell in a hand basket.

It was in Canada, but still, one can see it happening in an American school.

I saw a biker wearing a t-shirt that said “If You Can Read This, The Bitch Fell Off”. Had to pull over I was laughing so hard. Just sayin’.

Is Nancy Pynch-Worthylake not condemning herself with such unjustified action? Does she really believe that she can form the world into her own warped image? She and many others are being very, very foolish. Hopefully for her it is out of ignorance.

I pray for her repentance and salvation.

A Muhammad tee shirt would be OK though.

This has played out in the US, and would be unconstitutional here. To paraphrase Justice Fortas, you don't shed your rights at the schoolhouse door.

It wasn’t that it was a “religious” message,
it was that it was a Christian message.

The exclusivity of Christianity and the Cross is very offensive to people because it tells them that they can’t ever achieve salvation through their own “goodness”.

HOW OPPOSITE OF THE HARVARD FOUNDER’S BELIEF:

“ALL KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT CHRIST WAS VAIN.”

THE MOTTO OF HARVARD WAS OFFICIALLY:

“FOR CHRIST AND THE CHURCH.”

“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged, and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.” (Proverbs 16:6)

“Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalm 150:6)

No idea, but we won’t for much longer if the government school system continues the way it has been.

My first day back at school I would wear an Islam is great t shirt and see what they say. If nothing is said, I would take it off and put my other t shirt on right in front of this administrator and dare her to say anything.
