David Axelrod, a top campaign adviser to President Obama, said comprehensive immigration reform had not occurred during Obama's first term because the Republican senators who'd backed it during President George W. Bush's presidency were not willing to stand up and work with Obama.
"A lot of Republicans in Congress want to cooperate, they know better, but they are in the thralls of this reign of terror from the far right that has dragged this party to the right," Axelrod said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning.

The politicians cared more about their re-election than they did this bill.
That should be a lesson for the future, politicians can be manipulated by the people if you know how to strike.
I draw a clear distinction between politicians (in it for re-election and money) and activists (like Obama) who will 'press forward', public be damned.
Tea Party was just a portion of the outrage.
Wow. I thought the Tea Party was a spent round?
AxleShaft seems to be flailing at Straw men.
Didn’t AxleShaft eat dog? Uh...no I guess it was crow.
“A lot of Republicans in Congress want to cooperate, they know better, “
Yeah, like Dick Luger. Hopefully he’ll be in forced retirement a week from today.
Keep yapping Axledip and you will alienate even more people from the Lie and Blame campaign. Reign of terror? do they even comprehend how stupid that sounds outside of their bubble?
But in the Tea Party in DC, SanFran Nan was busy hallucinating swastikas, so I guess the Tea Party, is a good faux whipping boy for all the leftys ... They need an object of hatred to keep them alive these days...
The McCain/Kennedy bill, reflected the folly that George Bush articulated in his 2006 address on the subject. Here are his words, and my response: Answer To President Bush on Immigration. Which of us, do you think had the better argument?

Maybe the unions are quietly working to stop amnesty behind the scenes. The unions can say one thing in public and say something different to thier stooges in congress privately. The rank and file union members know that illegals drive down wages. The congressional black caucasians also know that illegals hurt Holder’s peoples’ wages. 0bama and the democrats could have rammed amnesty through congress in 2009 but they chose not to do it.
Hey Axelgrease!!! America doesn’t need “immigration reform”. We need you bastards to do the flippin’ jobs we’re paying you to do and secure the freakin’ borders! It’s not rocket science JACKASS!!!
Since the Jacobin Revolution in France ("Reign Of Terror" et al.) the Left has always depended upon hatred. The Left's cause has always been a war on reality; a war on what actually works in human affairs; a war on the reality of human nature. They have always appealed to hate; always to man's basest traits, the darkest side of human psychology.
They have always accused others of the mindset that drives their own supporters ("Projection," etc.).
Right now, Obama is back on the campaign trail--on a campaign where he is assisted by this fellow Axelrod. And to what purpose & by what methodology? See The Blame & Envy Cocktail--Demagogues' Path To Power.
If Conservatives allow themselves to be intimidated by the lies of those attacking our heritage, we will surely go the way of the pre-1917 Russians or pre-1933 Germans, when confronted by similar menaces.

Can anyone point me to a poll showing that “immigration reform” is one of the top issues for Americans? I’d settle for one that shows “immigration reform” being on the voters’ radar screen.
reign of terror= Freedom of Speech?
Define: immigration reform
I think we all know what it means.......and it's not good.
You know they are losing because they are just making Sh!t up. Every attack made by the Obama campaign is rooted in complete lies or falsified statistics. They have nothing to run on. Nothing.
As said on Rush a few weeks ago, the Obama campaign’s entire strategy is to tell lies in hopes that a majority of voters are stupid enough to believe them.
Obama didn’t even submit a comprehensive immigration reform bill.
I wish the ‘RATS would explain to Americans how “immigration reform” is supposed to help Americans. That would be a real hoot to watch. “Immigration reform” benefits only freeloading foreign nationals looking for a free ride on the backs of American taxpayers and commie ‘RAT politicians looking for retarded voters with very little intelligence. PERIOD!!!
Leastwise that's what he told his old lady.
She's probably got 'em in a jar on the kitchen table by now.

Republicans HOPE people are informed, while Democrats KNOW people are ignorant.
Nowadays, Stupid and Ignorant are mainstream, while smart and informed are extreme. The Bizarro World is here and we are living in it.
I doubt he is making it up. This is the kind of behavior we have seen from the likes of Lindseed Grahamcracker and the rest of the “Moderate” RINO Republicans. I am sure Zero has been told that serveral times by them.
As far as I’m concerned he can eat something that is left behind by dogs.
Where’s the link?
Good point.
Well stated!
Well stated!
Immigration Reform is code for “amnesty”.
The propaganda here is the use of the word “reform”. “Reform” means to change things to make them better. The Tea Party did not block reform because reform of immigration law was never proposed. Nothing that was proposed was going to make the immigration system better.
Hell, were I a member of these groups I'd be insulted at such an illogical/dishonest/transparent punk play by these Rats...truth is it'll likely meet with sucess...makes me want to puke.
Meat packing is a perfect example. In the 80's those jobs could pay as high as $18/hr. Now it is done by illegal labor for <$10/hr.
In Vegas a large portion of the hotel staff is illegal, but SEIU doesn't care about Americans looking for jobs or union members whose wages are suppressed. All they care about is getting the illegals to sign up for the union.
McCain-Kennedy was under Bush in 2007. Obama could have passed CIR with the Dems overwhelming control over Congress the same way they passed Obamacare without a single Rep vote. Axelrod is full of sh#t.
The politicans of GOPe also have seen those terrible Tea party people organize to bring down some rinos, too. They are not going to get away with screwing the Nation without damage. They know it.
They know they can’t ram-rod through liberals at the State level like they did with Romney. McLame would be in Arizona rather than in the Senate had not Palin’s Tea Party people supported him. He had a close brush with his support of illegal immigration during that election.
I’d like to see Axelrod get hit by a bus. He’s a total piece of scum.
Axelrod: A cross between Snidely Whiplash and Michael “Meathead” Stivic (Rob Reiner) of All in the Family.
“Reign of terror?” Now that’s a hoot. Nice try Axle but folks ain’t gonna buy it. I suggest he focuses on the Obama-supported and Pelosi-supported Occupy terrorists. Now that’s a reign of terror!
well i’d like to participate in one part of immigration reform thats for sure. ...see i have 2 kids in college and one comin up who says he wants some higher education of his own. So if I could, i’d like to particpate in the DREAM Act just to the extent that i get awarded enough of that free money to insure that my own dream comes true....i dream my 3 kids can make it across the border into diplomaville without sendin their dear ole dad into a shack located somewhere in Hooverville ...that’d be great...i’m an American, i know... but don’t hold that against me...can’t we all just get along?
That is Classic...spot on.
Not only do dems know people are stupid, they COUNT on it.
You are correct about the behavior of our leftist Republicans. The narrative that the 'Tea Party Extremists' are somehow blocking good legislation is the ongoing efforts of Axelrod, Reid, etc. As we know, it is the tea party effort that is pushing for the majority of Americans policy positions on virtually every issue. The media and Democrats only hope is to paint the Republicans as being held hostage by extremists. They have had moderate success in this effort...but not enough yet to throw the election.
