Harvard on Whether It Listed Warren as a "Native American" Through 2011: No Comment
Townhall.com ^ | May 4, 2012 | Guy Benson

Team Warren is also curiously silent on this very simple question.  Draw your own conclusions, America:

Harvard Law School lists one lone Native American faculty member on its latest diversity census report — but school officials and campaign aides for Elizabeth Warren refused to say yesterday whether it refers to the Democratic Senate candidate … The 2011 report indicates that “Race/Ethnicity designations are from self-report data,” meaning whoever is listed as a Native American told the school of their tribal lineage.

Robert C. Clark, a professor and former Harvard Law School dean, is listed as part Choctaw in a 1999 Harvard Magazine article. Clark has worked for the law school since 1989 but wasn’t named in a 1996 Harvard Crimson article when law school officials sought to defend their minority hires. Clark did not return requests for comment. Former law school spokesman Mike Chmura said in the 1996 article that out of 71 professors, only one was Native American and that was Warren.

This is getting comical.  To recap: Warren -- who might be 1/32 Cherokee -- says she classified herself as "Native American" in 1986 in hopes of being invited to attend a "luncheon" comprised of people "who are like I am."  She proceeded to renew her ethnic self-identification for the next nine years, then finally stopped checking that box in 1995, for no apparent reason.  The fact that she just happened to have secured tenure from Harvard by that point is irrelevant, she says.  It now looks like there's a very reasonable chance that Harvard was still listing Warren as its lone Native American law professor as recently as 2011, as part of a "diversity census report."  Harvard nor Warren will deny that inference, which doesn't consitute a confirmation, but it's pretty damn close.  So it seems that Harvard, which we know touted Warren's supposed heritage on at least two occasions, has continued doing so for more than a decade beyond the point that even she gave it up.  It looks like they did it for the high privilege of checking certain "diversity" boxes of their own.  Shouldn't this cast further doubt on their insistence that Warren's, ahem, Native Americanness never, ever came up during her hiring and promotion processes?  This trainwreck is damaging Warren's credibility because she's not fooling anyone, including her fellow Democrats:

Elizabeth Warren’s stumbling efforts to douse the firestorm surrounding her claims of being a Native American minority have raised concerns among local and national Democrats who are questioning her campaign’s competence. “There’s nobody watching this that doesn’t think she’s in big trouble,” one well-known Massachusetts Democrat said. Joe Trippi, a prominent national Democratic consultant, told the Herald that while Warren has time to recover, the campaign should have anticipated this issue would surface. “The problem is they weren’t ready for something they should have been ahead of,” Trippi said.

“This takes her biography into a bizarre dimension,” said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics. “It has derailed the effort to define Warren in a voter-friendly way.” Sabato also said that Warren’s claim that she didn’t list herself as a minority to gain an employment advantage is not believable. “This is what happens when candidates don’t tell the truth,” he said. “It’s pretty obvious she was using (the minority listing) for career advancement.”

Yup.  And that's precisely the conclusion that virtually every reasonable person is drawing -- and the Warren camp's pitiful cries of sexism and constantly shifting stories aren't helping.  Hey, good thing the media declared this controversy "over" a few days ago, right?

I calculated that my daughters are both twice (1/16) American Indian (forgot what tribe) than Elizabeth “1/32 Cherokee” Warren. They are also both twice that amount again ‘Hispanic’ (Brazilian) 1/8th. This through my wife’s side. I’m Britt, Scott, and Irish.

Nobody would ever consider my daughters minorities.

Sorry Elizabeth Warren, 1/32 does not make you an American Indian minority. It makes you a con artist white person trying to scam benefits reserved for real minorities.

I’m sure the tireless investigators from the MSM are currently going all out to check what lineage Warren’s two CHILDREN claimed to be and what advantages for colleges / job openings they got.

Right?

What surprised me was that she claimed to be Cherokee.

I had just assumed she was part of the Chappaquiddick tribe of Massachusetts, under Chief Te-di Can-a-dee.

The Cherokee's have a data base for relatives because of the Millions at stake from gambling.

Warren is a dummy claiming she is a Cherokee.

Sandra Fluke’s take on the matter is that maybe Warren was not able to score a luncheon with another Indian but at least Harvard Law insures her for free birth control pills as a consolation.

“...latest diversity census report”

Wonder what kind of Federal Cash Brownie Points an institution earns for having a diverse “diversity census report”?

And what Federal penalties would have befallen us had any of us peons and peasants been caught fraudulently diversifying our “diversity census report”? And that certainly the Ivy League Royalty can expect exemption from.
