Because we know that the possibilities of a Romney presidency (with perhaps Republican control of the House and Senate) are worse than the actuality of Obama's first four years plus four more finishing what he started?

Gee, omniscience is such a great thing!

There are some things that are worse than others. The actuality of Obama as president is worse than the feared awfulness of Romney as president. The former actually has happened. The latter is only feared to happen. Equating the two and choosing to let the former happen because of the latter by not voting for the latter is an exercise in impaired reasoning, muddled morality, and defective judgment.

No, no, no. Some of you people keep making this silly argument and it is pure bunk.

A general election vote is NOT an affirmative endorsement of a candidate, it is a choice between the only candidates that have any chance of winning and taking power. It will almost ALWAYS be a decision between the proverbial "lesser of 2 evils". In primaries you will sometimes have a real opportunity to vote your conscience, in general elections that may happen very rarely - especially at the national level.

Geeze, I'd hate to see what some of you people would do if you lived in a liberal city or state where ALL the candidates suck ALL of the time. There are actually some conservatives that have to pick the least awful option EVERY election cycle. Yet they don't pout, whine and cry, they act like a grown-up and vote for the least bad alternative.

No, it's a realistic choice. On January 20, 2013 the man taking the oath of office will be either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama--not Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, or some third party candidate.
