Mitt Romney Will Do Just Fine, Thank-You [insulting the intelligence of the base is madness]

The upcoming election will be one of the simplest of our lifetimes. It is defined by one axiom: Obama must be defeated.

[HUGE SNIP of must-read article]

So let us put away all thoughts of strife and disagreement. All wishful thinking and illusions. The real world beckons. There is no place for the ideal in this conflict. We will have other and better opportunities. For good or ill, Romney is the man of the hour. The only thing of importance is to defeat Obama and everything he stands for. The polls, the shifting attitudes of the country as a whole, and the stark fear arising among the progressives suggest that Romney can do the job. Lets us gird our loins and go amongst them.

Even if Romney wins, nothing will change,America will still fail because of gutless republicans.

If Ronald Reagan read these words he'd feel noting but contempt and pity for you.

If it is so important, you do it. I have better things to do than watch another Dole/McCain fiasco. (build an ark, fer instance)

You are actively working against America because your ego is more important to you than your country.

Judging from what I read here, most Republicans in Free Republic will vote for Obama.

It is a vain, gutless, blubbering disgrace around here.

If Ronald Reagan, George Patton, or Winston Churchill were here they'd be slapping tear-streaked faces right and left.

with such low support for either the imposter or Mitt, a 3rd party candidate has a greater chance to finally break the 2 party false dichotomy once and for all.

Do you really think that a third-party candidate has a greater than one-in-a-thousand chance of actually being elected President this November?

Probably not, but it will be a wake up call and put Conservatives in better position for an actual Conservative in 2016.

I think you are right.

He wouldn’t have a snowballs chance against a real opponent, and the fact that Obama is the worst POS to ever occupy the post is the only thing that might help him get elected.

America needs a patriot’s party, Problem is there aren’t many patriot’s left. Only Government teat suckers and liberal BS artists.

If conservatives do for Obama this fall what Naderites did for GWB in 2000 (i.e. get him elected) the GOP establishment will have two choices:

1. Tack rightward to try to reclaim the conservatives who abandoned the party, or

2. Tack leftward to try to replace those conservatives they lost.

Which course would you expect the GOP-e to take?

Neither current party deserves power nor do they deserve to survive the coming economic disaster that we are all going to have to live through.

“Judging from what I read here, most Republicans in Free Republic will vote for Obama.”

I personally regard defeat of Barry to by my #1 priority, but your comment above appears to be a violation of the spirit of the “TRUCE” declared by JimRob.

JimRob has suspended his previous stance that he would actively oppose a Romney win and has stopped dis-inviting ABO FReepers from being members of FR and also has stopped insinuating that ABO FReepers must be RINO’s or worse.

In return, I would respectfully request that ABO FReepers refrain from insinuating that FUMR FReepers are “voting FOR Obama” as this is false and insulting in the extreme.

Please visit JR’s TRUCE thread here:

“Frank discussion re our loss to Obama/Romney and the future direction of FR and tea party movement”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2879805/posts?q=1&;page=1#1

Also please check out my thread inviting ABO FReepers to resume DONATION in view of JR’s TRUCE announcement:

“Are you an ABO like me PO’d at JR for getting called a RINO? Truce declared! Please DONATE!”

At least I do not have a homepage on FR that states:

“This site no longer reflects conservative values.”

Looks to me as if you are the one whose rockers have fallen off. If FR is so bad and no longer “REFLECTS CONSERVATIVE VALUES”... why are you still here???

Then we Conservatives will finally destroy their party once and for all. They cannot win without us and obama already owns the progressives... hell I would bet that 25% of the republican elected officials in DC will vote for obama.

I honestly no longer care. I am a Conservative first and foremost. If the GOP no longer wants support from Tea Partiers then so beit.

What an upside down world it is when people think that voting for a liberal is reflecting conservative values.

It seems to me that what you are proposing will certainly result in fewer conservatives elected to Congress and the White House over the next 8-12 years. Is this what you expect as well?

If you don't care about America then why are you posting about politics on a conservative political forum?

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to eat and drink for tomorrow we die?

The GOP elite does not need to tack rightward because they know that most conservatives will vote GOP no mater how far left they go, so long as the opponent is perceived as further left. In other words, you don't change behavior by rewarding it.

Also, I'm not interested in the few crumbs, the GOP-E will throw my way just to keep me on the plantation. I'll leave that for the blacks and the Democrats.

If you don't care about America

I never said that. Your smarmy and gratuitous assertion be damned.

then why are you posting about politics on a conservative political forum?

Because I am a Conservative. The Republican Party is not America. It is just another corrupt political party whose leadership is hostile towards Conservatives. There are some good Conservatives, recent Tea Party candidates who are Republicans, but the fate of the party itself is meaningless in the context of left vs right.

If Conservatives have to rebadge under an official Tea Party, or a Constitution Party then Conservatism will live on.

Nobody still cries over the demise of the Whigs.
