Highly doubtful.
Why:
1. Romney would still lose NJ/NY/PA/CT/OH and possibly FL
2. Christie is a much better publicity hound than Romney. To the extreme.

3. Christie is looking to actually make some money, he needs to return to private practice, similar to what Pataki did after his term as NY gov. Christie will pull in $2 to $3 million gross a year if he chooses private practice at a white shoe firm. Unlike Biden, Christie doesn’t have a brother, sons and nephew stealing nine digit sums of money from hedge fund ponzi schemes.

4. Christie could end up heading the DoJ, in a pass the baton team with Guiliani and Pataki during Romney’s two terms, they are about the only acceptable GOP candidates to the bankers who run the DoJ.
