Creditors of Las Vegas copyright lawsuit filer Righthaven LLC are licking their wounds after no one bid for Righthaven copyrights in an eBay auction that ended Saturday.
Through the auction, it was made clear that certain Righthaven copyrights have no real value, either because of the type of content they cover or because of legal uncertainties about their validity.
It would seem that everything that Righthaven and its parade of idiots touch turns to garbage, said Las Vegas attorney Marc Randazza, whose firm is trying to recover legal fees after beating back a Righthaven lawsuit on behalf of a client.
Righthaven, now an inactive company, is known for filing 275 copyright infringement lawsuits in 2010 and 2011 over copyrights it obtained for lawsuit purposes from the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Denver Post.

A happy ending to a bad troll story!
I mean, not good that legitimate creditors can’t collect, but good that Wronghaven is reduced to nothing. I hope the owners are personally liable for any obligations.
Cue Nelson Muntz...
If I’d’ve known about the auction I’d’ve bid a nickel.
I don’t know all the details of their story, but it does appear that at least at first, they attempted to represent themselves as having standing to sue for damages when one of their clients’ copyrights was allegedly violated, and yet were never in a position to sell licenses to (or use) any of the related works. In French there has long been a phrase for this sort of thing, IIRC “vendre canard a moiete” i.e. half-sell a duck, from which we get one modern term for a lie, canard. They never actually held a copyright.
Anyhow Wronghaven is now a well and truly dead duck.
Lemme guess: “Impaired IP”....
Oh Noes...that's got to stink.....
Next auction should be for the office building and everything inside that isn’t a family photo. That would hurt the Righthaven idiots.
I was one of the victims.
I’ll reserve my comments.
I’m delighted they are this badly damaged, but I am personally angered they hurt us.
Depends on if they gave personal guarantees.
Why is that kid always laughing at a red x?
