Leading German politicians warned Greece on Tuesday that the country would not receive a cent more aid unless it fulfills all the conditions of its international bailout.

With the last round of elections the EU has sealed its fate IMHO, the second the new leaders start changing the rules is the second Germany will tell them to stick it where the sun don’t shine.
Let Germany and Greece meet on the battlefield.......of Brussels!
If I were a German voter I would be demanding that the EU periphery already be told to stuff it.
Springtime for Merkel and Germany
Winter for Greece and France
Don’t Mention the War.
Hopefully Merkel won’t cave...Germany is the most successful country in Europe - even being devastated by a Dictator and losing a huge war did not destroy their work ethic ‘gene’- they work hard for their Socialist entitlements, they understand that only the people, not the government, can provide those handouts. Spaniards and Greeks are of a different disposition - 80% of them don’t mind being poor as long as the government takes care of them.....they don’t understand what the Germans do nor do they enjoy hard work.
No more “German Grease” to “Grease” the skids of the politicians in Greece.....
“Chinese warns US: no cuts, no aid”
The results of this election might have a silver lining. If Greece follows through with breaking the agreement and Germany stands firm, then having Greece flushed down the toilet may get the attention of the rest of the continent. This might far better than having a couple of free-loaders dragging down the rest of the economies for years.
Anybody with a wit of common sense knew Greece had to be kicked out of the Eurozone back in 2008. Instead, the idiots in Brussels decided to drag this process out for 4 years and cause the contagion to spread.
The bad thing is that our own politicians are barely less stupid than they are.
Considering the election results this past weekend, I suppose you can add France to that list of countries on their way down the crapper.
(Although Spain may be forgiven a bit because of the gross failure of the government’s infatuation with AGW/Green.)
“Germans warns Greece”
Chinese warns US: no military/nuclear/naval/satellite cuts, no aid
Seems more likely since ODrama sold us to them.
Is Germany bluffing?
Subsequent to defeat, factory workers stashed their tools and dyes. Everything was taken down every two weeks... cleaned, oiled and returned to storage. It was all ready to use when needed.
Yes, I was wondering what happened to the replacing the letter S for the Y...
The terrible spelling is still up there: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/08/us-europe-elections-germany-idUSBRE8470QQ20120508

Proverbs 22:7 "... the borrower is the slave of the lender."
no the USA has politicians who are much better liars.
France and Germany have wanted a United States of Europe for 200 years. Now they have it, and have discovered the rest of the states only want their money.
The Franco/Prussians will not go quietly.
Why bother with the euro? for any other country it is a leash not a unity.
How dare those hard-working Gremans to threaten to cut off the retiring-at-50 Greeks. The Greeks deserve to sit on their asses and sip coffee at outdoor cafes, don’t they? It is only fair.
the euro as a currency should end. It eliminates all this united europe central bank nonsense.
The problem is that when Greece gets flushed it takes hundres of billions with it.
But, it needs to happen because it is going to happen and the longer we put it off the more painful it becomes.
If I were a German voter I would be demanding that the EU periphery already be told to stuff it.Actually, German voters do demand that; the problem is, all parties support the bailouts, the Euro, and the EU. There is nobody else to vote for, except some unknown 2% parties that are not even members of parliament.
Best case scenerio would be for Greece, France, and Spain to carpetbomb the hell out of Germany, then go bankrupt. Need to show socialism doesn’t work, yet also need to put down the erman threat before it continues to gain steam and we have to cross the English Channel with the UK again.
Good. Germany sticking to their guns. Pun intended.
Of course they are bluffing. They will continue to bail out Greece with more and more unfavorable terms until Greece becomes a Southern Province of Germany on the Mediterraean. That has been the plan all along and it is all Germany has every wanted since before the days of Alaric and Attila the Hun.
I agree with the Germans in this case.
Germany is showing who is the BOSS.
I think this time the brits will side with the germans....
So the Germans will starve the Greeks. Won’t be the first time.
And who does that sound like? Perhaps the 2012 election here?
Wrong. China and the US do not share a currency.
That’s OK.....France will send them some warm baguettes and snails.
No one who speaks German could be an evil man.
I don’t think so. The Germans are already trying to dictate to the Brits, ostricize them in their EU elite conferences, and have threatened them should they hold an EU referndum. I alo agree with the Germans against Greece in principle, but I am not willing to hand over their sovereignty either.
You got that right.
There could be another election in Greece if no one is able to form a government.
Some new “anti-austerity conservative” party helped prevent the main conservative party from winning a majority.
“...yet also need to put down the (G)erman threat before it continues to gain steam...”
So this omnipresent “German threat”, is it genetic? Racial?
It could be genetic. It has reared its head at least every other generation since about 250AD...
“It could be genetic. It has reared its head at least every other generation since about 250AD...”
Germans are fair game though, right?
“Although Spain may be forgiven a bit because of the gross failure of the governments infatuation with AGW/Green.”
Each of the countries’ politicians create their own excuses for their problems. Spanish and Portuguese may blame environmental/energy programs, Greek blames austerity/Germany, Franch blames the bankers or immigrants, American blames Wall Street, etc. In the checkbook, it doesn’t matter what they spent the money on. It only matters how much is owed relative to receipts. The voters in each country will vote more more debt because in each country the voters don’t connect public debt with personal responsibility. Of course, in the US the people getting the handouts don’t pay taxes in proportion to the handouts. In Greece and other countries, the consequence is unemployment, fewer handouts, and eventually lower purchasing power. However, until the individual voter can actually feel the pain, he or she will vote for more socialist handouts—vote till it hurts.
My summary of the recent French and Greek elections is simply, “vote till it hurts”.
That depends entirely on WHO is going to do the hurting....
And I have exactly zero confidence in the bums we’ve got running things in DC right now, since if somebody gets the notion that they could prop up the existing scam at least until November or coax another demographic to vote for ‘em, they’re likely to throw another ten-to-the-twelfth dollars at that problem.
Neither I nor my unborn great-grandkids can afford this crap, and I’m just about to go to war about it.
And who does that sound like? Perhaps the 2012 election here?Looks like the RINO problem is global.
