House to vote on Trayvon amendment
The Washington Times ^ | 8 May 2012 | Stephen Dinan

House Democrats said Tuesday they will offer an amendment to push to overturn stand-your-ground self-defense laws in states like Florida.

The amendment, which would withhold some grants from states that have such laws, will come as part of the House's debate on the Commerce Department spending bill.

Great observation!

I love it when Democrats do stuff like this as an election approaches. Just be sure and tell all your hunting buddies that the Dems want to penalize states that have Stand Your Ground Laws. A lot of hunters just don’t pay attention to politics, and end up voting Democrat without realizing that they’re always trying to take away their guns. Most of them would support a Stand Your Ground Law, so make sure they know about this bill.

A similar tactic was used to raise the legal drinking age.

“It’s stoopid! It won’t pass. States need to start telling the fed govt to drop dead!”
************************************************************
You’re right, it won’t come anywhere near to passing. Any Democrat, who is not representing a “bluest of blue” district, who votes for this risks marking himself/herself as a “target of opportunity” for the NRA this fall.

So go ahead, Dems—make our day!

This case has NOTHING to do with SYG.

The libs and media pulled SYG into this because they have an agenda.

The federal government does not have the Constitutional power to override any state law.

Not to worry, that is just one of Bernie Taupin’s hallucinations transcribed and put to Elton John’s music. They both have said in interviews over the years that most of the lyrics are complete drug-induced jibberish.

They want you to be defenseless as the mob knocks you to the ground and repeatedly kicks your head.

Everyone does see that right?

True. That’s why “Daniel” makes no sense. John and Taupin were high when they wrote it and had a final verse where you learn that Daniel is a Vietnam vet. But when they sobered up, they couldn’t remember the lyrics, so they left them out.

The way it should work, instead of the feds oppressing the states oppressing the counties oppressing the cities oppressing the citizens,

the citizens should be defending themselves against the city gov’ts who are defending themselves against the counties who are defending themselves against the states who are defending themselves against the feds.

This is not aimed at “blacks over 50”.

It should be renamed to the “Whitey, don’t defend yourself” bill.

It should be renamed to the “Whitey, don’t defend yourself” bill.

Tell that to the endless string of elderly Detroit blacks killing teen thugs in self defense.
