West Virginia has never been a hospitable state for President Barack Obama. Still, the results of Tuesday’s balloting seem to mark some kind of low point.

Democrats–those are members of the president’s party–voting in the West Virginia presidential primary gave 40% of their votes to a man whom the Associated Press identified as a federal prison inmate.

Keith Judd is serving time at the Beaumont Federal Correctional Institution in Texas for making threats at the University of New Mexico in 1999, the AP reported. With 90% of precincts reported, he had 40.3% of the vote to Mr. Obama’s 59.7%

I’d vote for the jailbird too.

What do you expected. Half of democrats are criminals. The other half are in jail.

Well, since I consider hussein an (as yet) un-convicted felon... Why not a prisoner? At least he’d be a known quantity. Once released he supposedly has atoned for his crimes. hussein has yet to make amends, if he can.

Sounds like a definite improvement (PLUS he is ALREADY in gaol!)

I missed my chance to win Democratic national convention delegates. If the jailbird did this well, a non-felon might have been able to win the state outright.

I guess they can legitimately file this one under “Unexpectedly!”

But seriously, how does this man have any standing to be on the ballot for pres in WVA?

Where is he in jail, in Tx, no?

How did he even get on the ballot?

Is he pro-life?

Does he support our 2nd amendment rights? (I’m going to guess yes on this one!)

And, how does he feel about Israel?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Was he allowed to vote? If no, just think of how many more votes he would have received from himself and his fellow inmates if they would have been allowed to vote!

He is not a resident of West Va so he like Obama is not eligible to vote in that state.

“Judd was able to get on the state ballot by paying a $2,500 fee and filing a form known as a notarized certification of announcement, said Jake Glance, a spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office.”

Here’s his two-page platform as received by the Federal Election Commission:
