Obama Has Lost His Speaking Mojo

Barack Obama's oratory skills may have helped him win the White House in 2008, but his speaking prowess could be a liability in this year's presidential election, says Sam Leith, author of Words Like Loaded Pistols: Rhetoric From Aristotle to Obama. Rhetoric is central to democracy, says Leith. "You win elections by talking to people, by trying to persuade them, not only on what you're going to do, but that you're trustworthy." And, he says, Obama talked his way into the Oval Office with "amazing speeches" that invoked Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr., and he even beat out the presumptive Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton. "He just spoke better than everybody else," says the former literary editor of the Daily Telegraph.[See a collection of political cartoons on Mitt Romney.]

When a female M.D. a partner of my doctor tried to explain why obozo was good all she could say was “he's better than the last 8 years”. I made up my mind that if my doctor was unavailable there was no way I would go to her.

LOL. I remember one friend (absolutely NOT a dummy) who was very impressed by Obama right after one of his early speeches and before we knew about Rev Wright and Joe the Plumber.

I said, “Next time he gives an impressive speech, write down the three best points he made and see if you can remember anything of substance that he said.”

It worked. My friend realized he was hearing well written (by someone else) platitudes with NO substance.

“Corpse men” two or three times in the same speech from the Commander-in-Chief is epic FAIL.
He repeated it in more than one speech too.
Neither he nor anyone around him (the "kitchen commies") knew it was wrong.

I wonder if his minions even know any better.

Would be interesting to see the text of that teleprompter segment, would be able to tell us whether or not the speechwriter fouled it up, and ignoramus Hussein read it as printed.

Hussein likes to surround himself with people far stupider than he is.

“Speaking prowess”???

That means: Regurgitating dated, erroneous, failed and flawed Socialist dogma, dressed up to pass for humanitarian indignation at challenges of Capitalism and egalitarian concern for the ‘underserved’. By the way...no national entity boasting the kind and increasing number of financial and social programs available to struggling citizens may ALSO claim to possess a class of ‘underserved’!!

It’s easy to recognize that drivel for the irrational screed of lazy and over-indulged elements common to all societies!

Glaring and obvious examples of failed Socialism are thick on the ground all over this planet. So, how anyone, in this day and age (the ‘information age’ as the MSM perpetually reminds us) continues to take this claptrap seriously is beyond me!

May the 'made for television' president have his show cancelled this fall. As he becomes more agitated over his shortcomings being exposed he will anger inside and begin to lose his media contrived 'coolness'.

Looking at what little history is available about him, it is apparent that he has simply talked his way through life and not been much of a performer. His successes are non existent shallow appeasements in the way of paybacks or promotional stunts; like the Nobel Peace Prize.

Even the excerpts I've seen from his books that I would never buy, he makes no mention of actually doing anything significant or building any thing that lasted or had a positive outcome.

IMO, he was neither a great speaker not a great reader.

True enough, but he has a great voice and this is way too often confused with speaking ability and intelligence. For example, Hollywood is full of great voices but intelligence and real insight is a rare commodity in that city.

I don’t honestly know how he can be taken as a serious or anywhere near eloquent speaker when he whistles his ‘S’ almost every time. Also, he clips his phrasing and words, which severely limits his ability to emphasize points. He doesn’t speak with strength, he speaks with volume, which is quickly forgotten. Anybody can yell...

Take away the teleprompters and old purple lips couldn’t string two sentences together.

Remember when the commie left accused Reagan’s popularity on “slick marketing and packaging”?

I REALLY hope that obama goes rogue and starts speaking his mind. C’mon there baraq, let loose. Go back to the only thing you know, community organizing. His media will cover every word and maybe a bunch more people will see this African dictator for who he really is.

Obama has a “Negro dialect” when he wants to (according to Harry Reid). If you notice, when he gets a crowd fired up, he’s always slips into that dialect.

That seems to be a big part of this myth that he’s a great orator.

Glenn beck nailed it recently. He highlighted Obama’s fake breathlessness and his snarly look as he speaks. Everyone in the studio and in my car was laughing out loud.

He won against John McCain. Big deal. The Democratic field had Hillary. She had plenty to dislike. Obama was not a historically great speaker. Obama is, and we are a victim of circumstances and 50 years of Public Education.

Public Education and Brittany Spears vagina photos.
