Gay group starts petition to force Dems to move convention out of NC

A gay advocacy group is trying to rally sympathizers to help shift the Democrats’ trouble-plagued convention from North Carolina to another state.
The group, Gay Marriage USA, launched a petition on change.org immediately after the state’s voters overwhelmingly decided May 8 to define marriage as a heterosexual institution.
The state’s amendment “discriminates against LGBT people, couples & their families [and] in protest, the Democratic National Convention Committee should MOVE its convention… to a state that upholds values of equality & liberty, and which treats ALL citizens equally,” according to a statement by the group on change.org.
The petition quickly picked up roughly 15,000 votes by 11 a.m. EST, May 9.

We have to pass legislation declaring homosexual sodomy to once again be treated as a crime. If it requires an amendment to the constitution, so be it. This time we can add the death penalty to any homosexual over 21 convicted of committing sodomy on a member of the same sex who is under the age of 21.
I say good. It wasn’t a very good fit anyway. Let the ‘Rats go where they are wanted. I think San Francisco would be happy to have a bunch of sodomites come to town. Keeps the bathhouses busy.

I've been a bit of a class clown on this thread, but I must admit you have hit the nail on the head. They, who ever they is, that protest against the DNC won't get close to the arena but, If all of the above and OWS crowd show up somewhere in town and make a mess, it can't be ignored by the lame streams at somepoint, the rest of the world won't.
Folks old enough to remember what a mess 68' & 69' were politically will not want to see our country almost destroyed again, unless you are an uber loon like the Ayer's crowd.
I will be thinking about this as the convention is about to occur...
Detroit is available-— and cheap too! Think of moving the DNC there as a ‘stimulus’....Nightlife in downtown Detroit will be electrifying.....
