Obama's Sudden Shift On Gay Marriage Nets A $1MILLION In Just 90 Minutes - as Republicans accuse him of 'playing politics'

Obama supported gay marriage in 1996 but later opposed it in 2004 Sasha and Malia's friends, who have gay parents, helped change the president's mind

Obama says issue should still be left up to the states New position draws sharp contrast with Republicans like Mitt Romney, who opposes same sex unions By MICHAEL ZENNIE and THOMAS DURANTE

9 May 2012

As President Obama changed his mind on the issue of gay marriage, he sent shockwaves through the political world - and a boatload of cash into his campaign war chest.

After Obama's announcement, his re-election crusade saw a spike in donations.

In fact, BuzzFeed reported that Obama's 2012 campaign collected an astonishing $1million within 90 minutes after the ABC News interview aired. One contributor, Stuart Kopperman - who married his gay partner in Washington, D.C. - told the Associated Press that he made a $25 contribution to the Obama campaign 'to say thank you.'

$1 million is not probative in the overall scheme of things. 0bama is going to lose, and lose big. I gain confidence in this view day by day. Unless there is a crisis of metaphysical proportions that causes the American people to believe their individual futures (and I am talking direct survivals) are immutably tied to government welfare or support or largesse of some kind have simply had enough of him.

The MSM does not report to us how many millions of dollars Mitt Romney raised in the 90 minutes after he made his strong statement against gay marriage.

And he (Abraham) looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace." Gen. 19:28.

Obama works the damnation of his own soul for money and power, of which this is only the latest installment, and brings the wrath of God upon the nation.

So why does Obama think DOMA is Unconstitutional?

Conservatives believe in States Rights and the Liberals HATE the idea of States Rights. What am I missing here?

"Obama says issue should still be left up to the states”

But not health care, not fracking, not oil drilling, not abortion, etc.

Bullsh*t. They'll invoke 'full faith and credit' later.

I wonder how all the out-of-work coal miners feel about this latest development, or are they the folks who voted for the Felon over Obama in West Virginia?

I think there is another economics lesson coming, too.

For those who think that robbing the rich will make a significant difference in the national budget (it won't), the realization that pandering to wealthy homosexuals isn't going to carry the day in terms of a campaign budget has yet to manifest itself.

But then, there are all the stimulus kickbacks yet to be counted, too, and that trough was filled with our future tax dollars via government guaranteed loans to failing companies which (surprise!) failed, and pork barrel shovel ready projects.

It’s all about the money. That our politicians can be bought is no surprise. That they can be bought so cheap is the surprise.

He is apparently very confident, either through narcissism and believing his own lies and syncophants, or through the 'fix' being in. He is overplaying his hand, and exposing the slug he is. I had thought this was the GOPs election to lose, but Barry seems to be doing just fine so far. Interesting that Romeny now comes off as relatively conservative in contrast, especially with Romney's liberal record in Mass.

Sadly, the net effect is to shift the 'middle' to the left some more, and leave those of us who have staunchly backed the Constitution hanging further off to the Right of the center of discourse.

Funny how many 'central' topics of debate today would have been so far left as to be radioactive in the days of Jack Kennedy debating Nixon.

We have a long way to go to get back to original intent.

There have been good signs this week that Romney will beat Obama. This whole nation has moved left since the Ronald Reagan years. The culture has moved leftward and so has the political discourse. Back in the 1980s universities were not leftist employment agencies

Romney is the best we can do right now to stem the tide

If Romney is the best we can do, the founders should have rototilled patches above their graves, just from the churning going on below the surface.

the big plan to have the convention in Charlotte NC will turn like the sign of Al Gore in Tennessee.

" Al Gore home of the Vice President and 11 Electoral Votes for GW Bush.
