Look, Jews (and Catholics) were heavily discriminated against by Protestants when they first came over and for many decades after that. Naturally, they’re going to be attracted to a party, The Democrat Party, that welcomes them. It’s difficult to determine how many Jews would be conservatives if it weren’t for people like Henry Ford, the so-called saviors of Christianity, the KKK, and other people and orgs who made their hatred of Jews and other non-WASPs a very open secret.

To be sure there were plenty of leftists in the Jewish immigrants of the late 1800s and early 1900s. But the fact is, they were made to feel unwelcome by the WASP majority. The KKK wasn’t a force in the big northern cities. The Dem Party eagerly lapped up the Jewish vote while the Republicans missed their chance.

When I have looked at that, it doesn't hold up, the Jewish vote was always farther left, until this thing with black voting really hardened up.

The leftism of liberal Jews and some conservative Jews is due mainly to the success of Communist propaganda in the US over the past 90 years. They convinced a lot of people who hated the Czar that communists were their saviors and a whole bunch of people bought it, hook, line, and sickle.

That seems like an incredibly lame explanation, poof, suddenly in 1920 almost all American Jews suddenly became genetically left wingers, when before they weren't.

I will never understand this.
If the Jews were armed during the rise of Nazism and WWII, could the Holocaust have taken place on such a scale.
The story if the Warsaw Ghetto belies this stupidity. The Jews in the WG made sure they were heavily armed... with guns, and when attacked fought a heroic battle at kept the Nazis at bay for a long time, killing off a whole lot of them.

I can't figure out how American Jews, who support the party of personal disarmament, can have any care for a fully armed Israel. But somehow they think that Israel is justified in arming itself for defense against its enemies, and yet Americans should not arm themselves in defense of themselves.

An inordinate amount of Jews are doctors or have doctors in their families. Doctors hate Obamacare. I personal know so mamy that are beside themselves with anger. I’d say 90% of the Jews I know who voted for Obama in 2008 have told me they will not vote fo him again.
Anecdotal, true... But I believe it. As an added point, several Of my friends have told me that they will vote for Romney, but they would not have voted for any of the other primary candidates.

In follow-up to my prior post, I did some pondering as to why Israeli attitudes are so different compared to their European cousins in the states...consider this series of events unique to those that made it to Palestine after the war:

1.) The Holocaust. Surviving near-total industrial elimination of your kin, on a scale unseen before in history.

2.) Palestine/early State of Israel. Escaping to your promised land, and for the first time in life, there’s no secular authority to be servile to (that will protect you, anyway)...quite literally, you and yours are on your own.

3.) Knowledge of those who resisted, be it the Warsaw Ghetto, Sobibor, Dachau, et al....there might even be a few of the survivors in your community.

4.) On a personal level, picking up a surplus Mauser 98K or Sten gun, blasting several bad guys looking to eliminate you and yours, holding the battle line for your village...and for the first time in your life, realizing you’ve resisted AND WON.

I can see that (especially #4, with personal experience of the great force multiplier that is the modern firearm) knocking the scales from a LOT of eyes.

I believe I have read that 90 to 95 percent of Blacks voted for Obama. It would not be an unfair "stereotype" to say that the typical Black supports Obama and will probably vote for him in November.
