Recovery Spring?

Why doesn’t Dear Leader just write an executive diktat stating unemployment is illegal so anyone reporting themselves as unemployed will be jailed and sent to re-education camps.

I suspect the number crunchers must have some idea of what the new numbers are before they “revise” those from the previous week. What was actually a 2K increase morphed into a 1K decrease. Hallelujah!!

Claims two weeks ago: 365k
Claims last week: 367k

An increase of 2k.

Is something wrong with my math?

If they are always falling in the media then why are there still almost 400,000 Americans filing for more jobless claims? And this is in a shrunken job market that mostly are government workers, workers in non profits (government grants), government contractors , all paid for by trillions in Obama debt.

The media lies and lies again to get Obama reelected as the media lied against Palin to get Obama elected in 2008.

Yes. In the full article, the 2 week previous number was revised up from 365k to 368k, resulting in a net increase of ONLY 1000, not 2000.

lol

There's math. And then there's government math.

Last week's 365K number was revised to 368K so that this weeks' 367K claims number could be reported as having "beaten" expectations. Rah. Rah.

Now, when this weeks' number is revised upwards next week (and it will be), today's result will be revealed to have been be a "miss" - but by then, it will be down the memory hole, which is the whole point of the exercise.

The headline excludes a key word: “New”. These are NEW jobless claims.

Noticed that. After various April data were released too many people were doing the “jobs created” vs. “new unemployment claims” math and the results weren’t very supportive of the president. Can’t have that.

How convenient... Last week revised EXEACTLY by the amount it would take to show a loss this week.

Once again, revised numbers last week, so media can report a ‘decline’ this week.

the deception rolls on.
