Bennet: Mourdock's views are 'Palin-style extremism'

Michael Bennet, the Democratic Senator from Colorado who defeated GOP candidate Ken Buck in 2010, emailed supporters last night to slam newly-chosen Indiana GOP Senate nominee Richard Mourdock:

Last night in Indiana, Sarah Palin's hand-picked Tea Party candidate Richard Mourdock beat 36-year incumbent Senator Dick Lugar in the state's Republican primary.

Lugar knew the value in working together to get things done and the Senate will miss his bipartisan tendencies. On the other hand, the name Richard Mourdock might be new to you, but his Tea Party ideology is more of the same Palin-style extremism we've seen from the likes of Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell and even Ken Buck right here in Colorado.

Democrat Joe Donnelly is taking on the Palin-Mourdock machine in November because he believes that Indiana should send someone to Washington who is accountable to the people of Indiana, not to Tea Party front groups and their special interest backers.

Lugar knew the value in working together to get things done and the Senate will miss his bipartisan tendencies. Lugar was part of the problem, giving in to the left has brought us to this point. We are sick and tired of it!

Respecting the Constitution is an excellent example of “Palin-style extremism”.

Considering I think Palin is fairly moderate, this guy isn't nearly as "extreme" as me.

Put me on a ballot somewhere and watch liberal heads explode.

When everyone is an extremist, no one is an extremist.

She’s never more than a thought away from being perpetually at the top of their minds. They STILL cannot stop themselves from thinking about her, fretting about her, fearing her.

In their debate Lugar and Mourdock gave exactly the same answers to everything.

Bennet must be of two minds here ~ (1) That if Mourdock says it then it's extreme, but (2) If Lugar says it that's just what the Democrats want.

Discounting Bennett's sanity for a moment, which isn't at all difficult, guy has none, what he's really saying is that other Democrats who worked with Lugar over the years liked his REACHAROUND approach, and how he was so easily taken.

That's the part Mourdock says he's not going to do. Bennett's saying he misses that part.

So, how about this right after he's sworn in Mourdock should walk over to Bennett and knock his head off.

He won't miss it. The others will pay more attention to Republican feelings from then on.

Lugar hasn’t been all that conscious for the last few years ~ so what’d he know anyway.

61-39 and that was with Lugar getting help from moderate Democrats jumping over to vote for him.

It wasn’t just the tea party that evicted Lugar, not by a long shot.

I love when liberals call conservatives “extremists.”

Who are the "special interest backers" they speak of?

I’m sure the people of Indiana will take Sarah Palin’s kind of “extreme” any day over the kind of “extreme” that is currently running things.

My definition of “extremism” is turning traitor to one’s own country by attempting to turn that country into a Marxist dictatorship. Bennet, you’re an extremist.
