Mitt Romney's opposition to gay marriage unites base
Politico ^ | 5/10/12 | By EMILY SCHULTHEIS

Social conservatives who doubted Mitt Romney now have a reason to rally around him after President Obama’s embrace of gay marriage.

Despite the fact that very conservative and religious voters didn’t support Romney in the primary, their fierce opposition to the issue will give the presumptive GOP nominee a way to harness conservative enthusiasm in November.

----snip----

“President Obama just ‘evolved’ himself into a one-term president,” said Brian Brown, the president of the National Organization for Marriage. “This is a disaster for the Democratic Party: the reality is that the exact states he needs to win are the states that have overwhelmingly passed legislation defining marriage as between a man and a woman.”

The general election is in 178 days.

What does attacking Romney now, accomplish?
Other than helping Obama.

Obama has the media for that. Let’s not join with the media.

The media is the problem.

If you’re sounding like the media,... time to check your GPS because you’ve ventured off course, big.

(that frustrated replay was not for you, but all the knee-jerking which followed)

Democrats get it. They’re getting ready for battle, raising money and organizing behind their candidate.

We’re methodically re-forming our usual circular firing squad.

Just in time for the election.

Romney said today he supports homosexual adoptions. Until today I was undecided about being able to vote for him. He settled the issue for me today. I will not vote for this man.

I told some of you that it wouldn’t take long for Obama to do this for Romney.,

What really bothers me now is that image of teen Romney bullying those poor homos in high school. That should be a disqualifier. We need some sensitive like Obama who takes orders from his kids.

I bet you Obama never bullied in school no matter what country that was in,but we will never know that because libs say it is none of our business.

It’s ironic that Obama and the Dems unwittingly hit on the one thing that would galvanize support for Romney.

Graybeard, I absolutely cannot pull the lever for Romney....no way, no how.

What we have to do is vote for the best conservatives for both the House and the Senate so that whoever wins president, they will be defanged—whether it’s obammy or mittens.

I think I’ll vote for Ron Paul, just for the halibut!

“And let that fact NOT be forgotten!!!”

Except that it’s not a fact. Neither then-Gov Romney NOR even the Dem dominated legislature wanted gay marriage in MA. It was forced on them by the N Supreme Judicial Court. They had X days to write legislation, get it passed and signed into law by order of the court in the state.

Wow, how sad is it that our choice is between Romney - Gay marriage pioneer, and Obama?

At least we still have Romney shills here.

“Names an openly gay man as his primary spokesman.”

FALSE: Grenell was hired to speak for Romney on national security/foreign policy issues, not as his primary spokesman. He has since resigned.

“Critizes the Boy Scouts for not allowing gay troop leaders.”

FALSE: Had a different opinion but did not criticize. In fact, he praised them. “I believe that the Boy Scouts of America does a wonderful service for this country. I support the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue. I feel that all people should be able to participate in the Boy Scouts regardless of their sexual orientation.”

“Claims he is against pro marriage, even though he personally implemented gay marraige in Mass as governor, doing more for gay marriage than Obama has done as president.”

He obeyed a court order, on the last possible day. Should republican pro-life governors be blamed for allowing abortion in their states as well? Which one stood up to the court and said I will not allow Roe vs Wade to control my state?

“Look at the actions, not the words.”

He then went on to push a constitutional amendment to ban homosexual marriage and held a rally at the courthouse when the legislature held up considering it.

“Words get etch-a-sketched. Actions tell his values.”

He banned state officials from marrying homosexuals from other states to keep MA from becoming the Las Vegas of homosexual marriage. He is faithful to his wife. He is a capitalist not a marxist like Obama.

And why didn’t Governor Romney and the MA legislature tell the judges to pound salt??????

Just because a judge says it doesn’t make it so;a whole lot of other people have to go along in order to enforce foolish judicial acts.

If people simply ignored the crazy judges this nation would be better.

Romney was, has been and is consistently for traditional marriage and against gay marriage.

Obama flipflopped 2X and is now 100% openly in the tank for the gay marriage agenda.

How much is Obama paying you say cr*p about Romney while giving a pass for Obama doin 10X worse?

It boggles the mind.

On planet earth, the Mass Supreme Court imposed gay marriage through the goodrich decision.
On planet RomneyHateCentral its all Romney’s fault.

Their Romney Derangement Syndrome is like the Bush derangement syndrome of the left. Everything is Mitt’s fault.
