It’s safe to say the folks at Time magazine weren’t caught unawares by the controversy already boiling up around their latest cover, which features an attractive 26-year-old mother breastfeeding her almost-four-year-old son.

It was a taste of that controversy that convinced Rick Stengel, Time’s managing editor, that the story deserved to be on the cover.

Time magazine is doing all they can to help Obama avoid his record. But has this gone too far, considering the style of the photo and the age of the child?

Imagine being that little boy...when he’s in junior high. Thanks Mom, for making me the most picked on kid in the school’s history.

What’s Time magazine?

Used to be the only occasion for me to read Time or Newsweak was in the dentist waiting room.

Fortunately, with my smartphone, I don't have to do that twice a year torture.

If not for the FR, I would not have know about this silly woman and unfortunate child.

I suppose this kid has no father? How about grandparents? Or maybe the whole group is non-compos mentis.

I’m NOT going to give them the click to find out.

Maybe child services needs to pay those people a visit.

Like in “Gone with the Wind”, “I don't know nothin’ about birthin’ no babies”.

Does it help Mom's to get their weight back to where it was before pregnancy by breast feeding?

That the longer women breast feed, the sooner they get their figures back. 3 is too much, for crying out loud, but when women want to get the baby weight off quickly, maybe the longer they breast feed.

Like I said: "I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies.". Something about estrogen levels or something, I think.

Arrgh, the more I see this the worse it is.

That kid looks miserable, his mother looks like a maniac.

How on earth do they think this makes what ever it is they are trying to tout look good in any way?

We’re expecting these people to report the news? They can’t even spin their own propaganda correctly.

Years back there was a lady we knew that breast fed each child for many years. One day, while guests were there, one of her sons walked up to her and said, “Tit, ma.” and proceeded to pull off one side of her bra and enjoy his meal while the guests were still in the room.

My favorite line is from Firesign theater:

Mother: “Son, I didn’t breast feed you for 15 years to see you turn out like this! Now, come here son.”

Son: “Aw, mom, I’m not hungry.”

Looking at that cover all I can think about is if the crazy mom let’s junior’s friends join in.

I bet if she continues till he hits puberty they’ll be a lot of volunteers

(Pity this child when he hits Middle School and his buddies find this magazine cover)

The child looks a lot older than he is--I would have said seven years old. Big kid.

This is porn. Sorry. Child Porn. And the editors of Time will get away with putting this on the cover of a major news magazine so the porn-obsessed with buy it.

Larry Flint hires 18-yr-olds to perform in his porn for big bucks if they happen to look younger than their legal ages. It's called "Barely Legal."

Now here's the opposite...and an extension of the "Mommy Wars"--I happen to think that a child should be weened from this before the first birthday, and I usually get a titty-baby fanatic that thinks it should extend into elementary school...
